That was Athletic Director Kevin Anderson’s response when I asked about 2012. Of course he prefaced it by saying Maryland must keep winning. When I asked Kevin about dealing with the budget shortfall and it’s effect on keeping the 27 teams in tact—he responded that winning football and sellout crowds would go a long way to solving the problem.

Who said Randy Edsall could not create a buzz. The uniforms were still the topic as Randy appeared on ESPN’s Outside The Lines and several radio shows. Tonight at Tark’s, the Unis were the topic at almost every table. Maryland has placed 10 game jerseys and 10 helmets on it’s auction site. My prediction the #5 jersey (Danny O’Brien) will go for at least $2500.

Who said Randy Edsall could never create a buzz. Look, he is a stern disciplinarian. But get it straight he loves what he does. He has fun at what he does. The team has captured his attitude as is evident if you listen to what the players have to say. When the team saw the Unis Monday night, they stood and cheered. What a great way to go into the game!! Were the Terps prepared—their scripted first series resulted in … Read More »

The verbal commitment from Jake Layman has eliminated Maryland from Jerami Grant’s college selection list. My gut feel is Syracuse. This is how it works. Now it seems like the Terps are down to Christian Sanders or Terry Henderson for the guard position and McGary or Jefferson for th forward. In each case either guy would be great. Turgeon will take the first to commit in my opinion. It’s way too dicey to stall any verbal. Either McGary or Jefferson … Read More »

Jake Layman is a terrific get for the Terps. He is a sharpshooter something desperately needed. But besides that, he is a very heady player. A very slick fast break ball handler,

Here is what High school coach Sean McQuinnis had to say about Jake: from terrapin times.com

“A few years ago, some folks around here felt that Jake had promise, and would be a nice D-2 type ballplayer,” explained McInnis. “I saw it differently. I called Leo … Read More »

First things first, I sent Coach Edsall a text stating that in the past decade, I can’t remember Byrd Stadium as electric as it was last night. To me it was incredible that 90% of the crowd stuck it out to the end.

I LOVED the Uniform. There has been a concerted for the football team to encompass the entire state. What better way to do this then to incorporate our superb state flag into the uniform. Sports stores, eBay, … Read More »

– Maryland quarterback Danny O’Brien, defensive lineman Joe Vellano and defensive back Cameron Chism have been recognized as Atlantic Coast Conference Players of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

O’Brien led an offensive attack that produced 499 yards of total offense in a 32-24 win over Miami, the most by a Terrapin team since Nov. 12, 2005. The sophomore went 31 of 44 for 348 yards and a touchdown – the third 300-yard passing game of his … Read More »
