It’s a simple game. Pitch 9 innings–don’t walk anyone–mix up your speeds and just win. 1 run –7 hits–0 Walks–5 strikeouts

Buck is now 14-10

Koji throws strikes like a closer should. Another strong save effort.

Strong defense at short Itzuris, and center–Corey Patterson.

Wiggy stays in a slump at the plate.

Roberts left the game in the first inning–left hip–day to day.

So the Orioles actually made a big move which involved spending some cash.  On Wednesday the O’s got Kevin Millwood from the Rangers plus cash for Chris Ray and a player to be named later according to the Baltimore Sun.

Last year Millwood, who will be 35, finished with a 13-10 record and a 3.67 ERA in 31 starts.  His contract is $12 million for next year, the final year of his deal, and the Orioles will pay nine million … Read More »

Brad Bergesen was brilliant last night as the O’s used some key hitting by Nolan Reimhold to defeat Seattle before 17000 at the friendly confines of Camden Yards. The O’s have been 2 different teams at home and on the road this year.

I called Dino after the Orioles shocked everyone by selecting the Baseball America’s 18th ranked rh pitcher Matt Hobgood from Southern California. Tune in Thursday night to catch Dino’s comments on the draft.

Brad did not disappoint, he was brilliant by Oriole standards. Trembley pulled him out wisely after 97 pitches and only an error by Wigginton on a routine grounder spoiled his effort. Aubrey slammed 2 dingers and Markakis went 4-4, as the … Read More »
