A more confident and dominant Terrapin team came out in the second half to defeat Old Dominion, 84-67, Thursday night in Comcast Center. Freshman forward Diandra Tchatchouang helped lead the No. 20 Maryland women’s basketball team to its third straight victory in less than a week with a career-high 22 points. The tape of tonight’s game will not be sent to the Hall of Fame. There was a lid on both baskets. The Terps shot 19% in the first half and were 20-72 overall. That being said the Terps composed themselves in the 2nd half and dominated the rest of the game. The following is from umterps.com:

I keep hearing rebuilding but I haven’t seen any evidence that this team has any major deficiencies. Once Dara Taylor entered this game it was over and done. She is a pleasure to watch–quick, smooth, great court vision and court sense. Also, Tianna Hawkins is a prime time player. However , I anxiously await to see how the see responds when they go up against a ranked team. All in all, a great start for both basketball teams.

It’s hard to assess the team’s performance in such a one sided game.  DiandA Tchatchouang and Tianna Hawkins have led the way in the 2 games for the Terps, but I am glad the regular season starts Saturday night. I am beginning to believe that Brenda might have a better team then most fans expect.

Remember this is just what ESPN says. The line of reasoning is strong until ressurection of the Johnnies’ program is brought up. Lance can’t do this by himself. Maryland is the better fit if the match comes down to these 3 universities. Terrell would be an interesting selection because of his shooting range. From my limited observation of Vinson, one thing I know for sure. this kid can shoot!!!!!. From Jayhawk country, former Terrapin recruit, Quintrell Thomas, has … Read More »

This came to no one’s surprise. What is surprising is that Terps will not be going to St Louis. The sting is still in my heart. Kristi becomes the first Terrapin in school history to be selected a first team AP All-American on the heels of her second team nod as a junior last season. The Harrisonburg, Va., native averaged 18.4 points and 4.9 assists per game, team-highs on a Terrapin squad that claimed their first Atlantic Coast Conference regular season and … Read More »
