I watched this supposed embarassing dunk the Xavier guard put on LeBron and was totally unimpressed. LeBron just casually watched, he was never challenged. Lower your ego, King.

Unbelievably Shaq found out about this blockbuster trade on Twitter. Shaq and Kobe in LA –3 Titles . Shaq and Dwayne in Miami–1 Title. Now Shaq and LeBron. Is Shaq over the hill. I don’t think so. By the way Steve Kerr gets the award for athe quickest destruction of a franchise I have ever seen. Expect to see Nash released soon–Why?  Because SK has no clue!!!!

LeBron James uncharacteristically stormed out of Orlando’s Amway Arena as his Cavs were beaten soundly by a deeper Orlando Magic team. Just how devastated was LeBron, the league’s MVP? What’s next for the King? What does Orlando need to do to beat LA? Why Kobe is still the best NBA player.  All these topics will be tackled this week.

40 Games in 40 nights has proven one thing to me: Kobe Bryant is still the best player in basketball. Sorry Melo, LeBron, Dwight –Kobe plays 48 minutes, takes a beating without complaining, and is able not to wear down. No matter who wins the East it’s the Lakers in no more then 6 games for the title.

Stan Van Gundy demanded that Dwight Howard got the ball in Overtime last night and he reponded with a 10 point explosion. LeBron is just playing too many minutes with way too much demand on him. Though he hit an incredible 3 to keep the game close, his last second 40 footer never had a chance.  Colin Cowherd got this series right when he said Cleveland was way overrated. ESPN late morning host Colin Cowherd was on a tirade about how weak the East was this year and how the Cavaliers are so overrated. IT’s LeBron and nothing else. Well he wasn’t all wrong as on Weds night the King scored 48 yet his team collapsed down the wire to lose to Orlando in Game one. Game 2, now a must win for Carmelo and Denver.

After going 4 for 4 in my Conference Semi Final Predictions it is now time for the 2 Conf. Finals analysis.

Eastern    Cleveland over Orlando in 5 games  Besides LeBron, the Cavs are just too deep for Dwight, Rashard, and Hedo, the Cavs will come off the bench with Ben Wallace and ex Maryland #1 draft pick, Joe Smith. Orlando  will not have all the open looks they had in the Celtic series.

It’s hard to believe the effect Ron Artest has had on Kobe. #24 seems to be out of sorts being frustrated by the constant defense being inflicted on him by Battier and Artest. The Lakers will win game 7 but appear to be vulnerable to Denver and thouroughly outmatched by LeBron and the Cavaliers. Let’s see what Jackson can do to coach these guys back to dominance.

I had an interesting conversation with a member of the Wizards front office … Read More »

After 2 consecutive losses, Coach Cottle turned to Sophomore goalie Brian Phipps and was rewarded with a huge effort.  Travis Reed returned to the lineup and contributed 4 assists.  The Lady lacrosse Terps crushed Virginia Tech 20-3 earning the top seed in next week’s ACC tournament.  The Wizards roughed up LeBron James but faltered down the stretch losing game one to the Cavs.  They seemed to lack offensive rhythm but get a quick rematch on Monday.
