I can’t believe I am beginning to believe again. Pinch me. A 3 run walk off homer by Reimhold. Holy cow? I must be dreaming. When I awaken in a few days I’ll see how the dream is doing.
Well he is finally here. Matt wieters joins the other “future Orioles” this Friday night at Camden Yards. The lineup is starting to have the look that might bring people back to the yard. Certainly the outfield seems set for 5 years with Markakis, Jones, and Reimhold. The only weak spots left are shortstop and DH. I can’t wait to see Mr Wieters. All the hype has to mean something!!!
The timely hitting that marked the beginning of the season returned last night as the Orioles reeling from a miserable weekend in Toronto, used homers by Markakis and Brob to ease past the Rays. Danny Baez pitched 2 scoreless innings to pick up the Win for the Birds now 10-16. It’s hard to expect the top of the order to contribute night after night but that’s the formula for victory for the Orioles. The starting pitching has not been great but … Read More »
Much maligned Oriole starter, Adam Eaton responded with a 9 strikeout 0 walk performance, going 7 1/3 innings in the victory over the mighty White Sox. Adam threw 104 pitches, 74 of which were strikes. The O’s move to 8-8 with the Texas Rangers coming to town tomorrow night.
This was one game I had to go see. The build up for Brad Bergesen leads every Oriole fan to believe he is part of the pitching solution. Brad did not disappoint, he was brilliant by Oriole standards. Trembley pulled him out wisely after 97 pitches and only an error by Wigginton on a routine grounder spoiled his effort. Aubrey slammed 2 dingers and Markakis went 4-4, as the … Read More »

It will not take long for Koji to become a folk hero in Baltimore if he continues to pitch like he did last night. The O’s coasted to a 7-5 victory behind the clutch hitting of Nick Markakis. George Sherrill was forced to enter the game in the 9th to retire Matsui and preserve the victory.
Ex Terrapin, Jared Gaither seems destined to attempt to fill the shoes of legendary retired Ravens tackle Jonathan Ogden. Is he ready for the position that protects the blindside of the QB or is Adam Terry more qualified. The Ravens believe Jared is the man or as Ozzie responded when I asked last week if Jared was ready, he responded “he’d better be.”
Elsewhere on Saturday, as I predicted Venus Williams won in straight sets over baby sister … Read More »
Women’s Lacrosse has no answer for the 3 Time (soon to be 4 time NCAA Champion) Northwestern Wildcats. The newest victim–legendary Gary Gait and the Syracuse Orange. Faster, in better condition, more aggressive and possessing Coach Kelly Hiller’s killer instinct, the Wildcats totally dominated Cuse. Interesting fact–Hiller played under the tutelage of Gary Gait at Maryland. Gait is widely considered as the one who revolutionized the Woman’s game mentoring the great Jen Adams and a host of Maryland stars … Read More »
