Terrapin attackman. Ryan Young,  has had an unbelievable All American season this year  while carrying the tremendous burden of the illness of his Mom. Yesterday Maria Young succumbed to pancreatic cancer. Our hearts go out to Ryan and his family. Ryan is a special young man who has represented the University in a tremendous fashion.

Travis Reed and Ryan Young brought the Terrapin attack back to life each registering a hat trick as the Terps moved to 3-1 on the season. Some super saves by Bellarmine’s goalie kept the game respectable. Coach Tillman emptied the bench in the 4th quarter as Bellarmine closed the gap. Next up for Maryland –Towson state on Saturday at 11 AM at Johnny U Stadium.

Five University of Maryland men’s lacrosse seniors were selected in the 2011 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Collegiate Draft. Long pole Brian Farrell was the highest pick, being selected with the 12th overall selection by the Boston Cannons. I anxiously await watching the high powered offense of the Terrapins now under the Tillman regime take the field tonight. The trio of Travis Reed, Grant catalino, and Ryan Young enter their 4th season together as the attack unit for the Terps. I will report on the game tomorrow.

Terps over Notre Dame—-Scott Rodgers has been gtreat in the nets for the Irish, But Brian Phipps has been at least his equal. There is just a talent advantage on the Maryland team. Last year Maryland went to South Bend and defeated Dame with Rodgers in the cage.  Look for Maryland’s scoring to be spread out again with playmaker Ryan Young leading the way.
