There is a great article by ESPN’s Seth Wickersham about how Darrius Heyward Bey is adjusting to life in the NFL.  As everyone already knows, Oakland’s drafting of DHB was the biggest surprise of this year’s draft.  Most analysts projected him to go late in the first round, and now there are a lot of skeptics who are questioning his abilities to perform as a top 10 pick.

However, DHB has remained confident throughout his transition into the NFL and … Read More »

Andy Katz has released his final Top 25 Preseason Poll for College Basketball, and the Terps have earned the 17th spot on the list.

Greivis Vasquez‘ decision to return gives Gary Williams the ammunition he needs to build a tough-minded, gritty bunch once again, with eight of the team’s nine top scorers back.

This is an accurate ranking for the Terps heading into the season.  Everyone knows what Greivis can do for this team, and Bowie, Milbourne and Mosley … Read More »

Game 7 is almost upon us.  Before I make my prediction as to who will hoist up the cup, I wanted to share a few facts going into game.

The home team has won each game in this series. Detroit is 3-2 overall in NHL Finals game 7’s. The home team has won the last six NHL Finals game 7’s. Pittsburgh has scored 2 goals on the road compared to 10 at home during this series. Pittsburgh has never played in a NHL Finals game 7

Congrats to Moise Fokou, former Terp linebacker, as he signed a 4-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday.  Fokou was drafted with the 230th pick in the 7th round of this year’s draft, and was the third of five Terps to be taken in the draft.

Fokou came to the Terps as a walk-on, but made a name for himself quickly.  He led the team in special teams tackles the past two seasons, and he is expected to make an immediate impact on the … Read More »

After Saturday’s disastrous prediction, I now have seen the light and realize Detroit is the superior team and will lock up its second consecutive Stanley Cup in Pittsburgh. While momentum really hasn’t played a part in this series so far and the home team has won every game, this will change tonight.  Look for Zetterberg and Franzen to both get on the board, and for Datsyuk to skate more comfortably on his injured foot.  Final Score:  Red Wings 4, Penguins 2.

The Stanley Cup finals return to Detroit tonight as the Penguins look to keep their winning streak alive.  The Pens are younger, more energetic and have momentum on their side.  Evgeni Malkin is playing the best hockey he’s played in these playoffs.Sid the Kid will step up tonight, and there will be a changing of the guard as #87 leads his team to victory.  Look for Pittsburgh to close out the series on their own ice in game six.

Zagsblog posted an article this morning about the latest in Lance Stephenson’s recruiting.  In the article, Lance Stephenson Sr. mentions the efforts our coaches have taken to put Lance in a Terp uniform.

“I talk with Coach [Gary] Williams, Coach [Keith] Booth and Coach [Chuck] Driesell, they’ve just been there,” he said. “Maryland is going through their process where they want to pick a player and they’re not putting any rush on us. They want Lance to be sure … Read More »

Tonight, Rodney Wallace (D.C. United) and Jeremy Hall (NY Red Bulls) will be back on the field together in D.C., as the New York Red Bulls take on D.C. United at RFK Stadium.  This is the second meeting between the two teams this season, with United winning the first game, three to two.  These two players were core pieces of the Terps’ national championship team last year, and both have adapted well into their roles on their respective teams.

Wallace has taken his speed and explosivness … Read More »
