Everything was the same at Camden Yards last night. Red Sox nation invaded and probably had 25.000 of the 44,000 in attendance. Poppy went deep. The Red Sox won. Oriole fans split after the team failed to deliver in the 8th. It was another meaningless loss for the O’s and another step towards the playoffs for Boston.

The Orioles traded their closer George Sherrill for 2 Los Angeles Dodgers prospects. The 32 year old lefthander acquired in the Eric Bedard trade saved 51 games in his brief stay in Baltimore. One of the great guys of baseball is—was David Ortiz. Now, he is relegated to Arod and Manny status.Too bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will he get booed in Baltimore this weekend?
Am I the only guy in Baltimore that is not happy about this trade. Sherrill pitched great for the O’s and without him the O’s are destined for another August — September collapse. It’s just too old for me. Josh Bell at 3rd and Steve Johnson on the mound—time will tell. Aubrey Huff had a great game today despite Freddy’s rantings from Boca.
