This is a time to praise Dave Trembley. He is beginning to push the right buttons. The O’s staged a gallant 9th inning comeback to defeat the Philadelphia Phillies last night 6-5 as Brian Roberts smacked a 2 run dinger with 2 out in the 9th. Sherrill closed out the game for his 14th save.

Before 11,800, the Washington Mystics defeated Chicago tonight 81-72. More important it was a clash between 2 ex-Terps. Crystal Langhorne scored 14 points with 6 bounds and rookie Kristi Tolliver scored 13 in a losing effort. Marissa Coleman is out for 4-6 weeks with a high ankle sprain.

Three days ago the big question was who would his 15th major first –Tiger or his buddy Roger Ferderer, Well after 1 round Tiger is 10 shots off the lead  and before the start of Wimbledon, the nemisis of Federer, Raffi Nadal is out of the tourney with a knee injury.
