To no one’s surprise, Maryland Middie Caitlyn McFadden was named as a finalist for Lacrosse’s most prestigious award. Listen to her tomorrow night ona replay of the April 30 Terp Talk.

Two additional Terps signed free agent contracts with the Green Bay Packers. OL Dane Randolph and DL Dean Muhtadi were the latest Terps to ink deals with the NFL. They both have to make the squad however.

Koji, showing no signs of problem after being hit in the chest with a line drive in his last outing, was spotted a 3-1 lead on homers by Roberts and Zahn. Along came the 6th and 7th and the lead and game were lost 6-3 to the surging Rays. Just a note, Arod is supposed to make his return to the Yankees Friday at Camden Yards. Tickets still remain but not for long!!

With the Terps, Brett Cecil was primarily a closer, but today for Toronto Brett started and pitched 6 strong innings.  He allowed 2 runs, 1 earned, allowed 6 hits, had 6 strikeouts and no walks.  Way to go Brett!!

DeShawn Painter, 6’9 power forward from Hargrave Academy had high words of praise for NC Sate Coach Sydney Lowe but did not commit. He will visit Maryland this weekend according to terrapin times.com.  Because of Maryland’s immediate need for big men, it would seem like Painter is a natural player for the program. We shall see.

Texas, Rutgers, and Terps now await the decision of Monique Oliver, the de-commit from USC. She completed her official visit to Maryland last weekend according to Terrapintimes.com  the and now will vist Texas before making her decision. I will keep you informed.

WOW!!!!  Games like this will make a hockey fan of me. Alex and Crosby matched hat tricks last night at Verizon but he Caps came out on top due to another goal by #39 Dave Steckel. #8 was incredible as usual actually putting the game out of reach with his 2 third period goals.  Remember a series doesn’t really start until a team wins on the road. The Caps have held serve.
