Dennis predicted that Dorsey would be drafted on The Sports Maven this morning.
Matt Furstenberg was signed as a free agent by the Ravens.
AJ Francis was signed by Miami.
Nate McClouth continues his torrid pace with 3 hits, including his first HR of the year.
Pedro Strop enetered the game in the 9th having to protect a 4 run lead. A walk and a near beheading of an Oakland batter forced Buck to use JJ again. I would assume JJ gets Sunday off and Pedro is close to being sent to Norfolk to straighten out his mechanics.
The Ravens – as usual – turned in a very workmanlike draft as usual. What I like in particular about this one, is that it was very much a “trench” draft. Football is a man’s game, typically won in the trenches. The Super Bowl is won every year by the team that has the best offensive line and the best defensive line in football…..in the playoffs when it counts! When it’s the playoffs, when you are one and done, you … Read More »

There sure were a lot head scratching picks during the first round of the NFL draft, but we shouldn’t have been surprised – it happens every year! Here are some of the more obvious one’s:
The Jets – took Sheldon Richardson and Dee Milliner, when they really wanted Barkevious Mingo and Tavon Austin. Their needs are no different today than they were yesterday. With two picks that early, that should have never happened! They simply got outmaneuvered!
The Cowboys – clearly needing safety help, they traded … Read More »
Ravens Nation went to bed happy last night (or should I say this morning), having selected the hard-hitting safety out of Florida in Matt Elam. He was the consensus best player available on the Ravens’ draft board, and the team wasted no time in turning in their selection card to commissioner Goodell in what seemed to be under a minute. By all accounts he just loves to play football, loves to be on the practice field, is very fast, and loves … Read More »
Friday, 5 p.m. in Chapel Hill, N.C. (ESPNU)What’s at stake The Cavaliers (6-7) must win the Atlantic Coast Conference title to have a shot at an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. The Cavs showed a flicker of offensive life in a late-season loss to Duke. For the Terps, (9-2) a win would solidify their strong at-large resume and cement a home playoff game. This team has big dreams but hasn’t been playing like a team destined for Memorial Day.
