No stranger to Loyola University Maryland athletics or the Baltimore-Washington metro area, Keith Booth has been named an assistant coach for the Loyola men’s basketball team, head coach G.G. Smith announced today.
Booth, 38, has served as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Loyola for the last two seasons and was an assistant coach at the University of Maryland from 2004-2011 for then head coach Gary Williams.

Authorities checked bags, combed through debris and flooded the streets with investigators Tuesday in a rush to determine who set off two shrapnel-studded bombs at the Boston Marathon that killed three people and injured at least 144.

I am just absolutely speechless after watching coverage of the bombings near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. I often think about how the sporting world has been spared of such events in our country. No more. When watching the utter chaos, hearing the cries for help, and knowing of the human destruction that occurred in Boston ===I just become sick to my stomach.
