According to the Sun, Maryland said it has not yet officially granted Goins’ release. Several Maryland fan Web sites reported that Goins was leaving. The rarely used Freshman big man is expected to transfer to a smaller DI school.
One of the final pieces on th 2009 Basketball puzzle for Coach Williams is the addition of 6’9″ power forward, DeShawn Painter to the roster. DeShawn had his official visit to College Park this past weekend. Terrapintimes.com reports that DeShawn will make his announcement of where he plans to matriculate on May 18. The choice is down to 2 schools, Maryland and NC State.
DeShawn Painter, 6’9 power forward from Hargrave Academy had high words of praise for NC Sate Coach Sydney Lowe but did not commit. He will visit Maryland this weekend according to terrapin times.com. Because of Maryland’s immediate need for big men, it would seem like Painter is a natural player for the program. We shall see.

Terence Morris will play for CSKA Moscow against Regal FC Barcelona at noon EST on Friday, May 1, while Drew Nicholas and Sarunas Jasikevicius will take their Panathinaikos team into the second semifinal against Greek League rival Olympiacos at 3 p.m. EST. Both games will be available on NBA TV.
Check out zagsblog for the latest on Lance. He show no leaning or favorite team but despite the Maryland naysayers from New York, my hunch is that he is waiting to see if the NBA rejects Greivis. Just remember , Lance never eliminated the Terps. I am not obsessed with Lance, except everywhere I go that’s all people ask about. That was of course until Terrence Ross verbally committed.
