Kyle Singler was too much for the Terps tonight. It’s funny but until Duke made its title run Singler was virtually not anywhere to be seen in the mock drafts. But now, with another year under his belt Kyle’s stock is through the roof. Again the bench for Duke did us in. Dawkins and Curry were a combined6-12 with 5-9 from the 3 point line. Overall Duke was 10-23 from the three line.

Maryland again seemed to only score from … Read More »

Despite what the Dookies say this has turned into the game the nation watches in the ACC. Carolina is not the Carolina of even a few years back and when you look for what it takes to battle with Duke, Gary Williams might not have the same talent but he always has the answers. That’s why tomorrow night at 9, Steve Lavin, Tom Izzo, Bobby Knight, Dookie V, every great coach in the land will be tuned in to ESPN. It certainly is pretty clear that Maryland probably needs 10 conference victories to get a ticket to the dance . Therefore every win on the road is a monster.  Tonight at 7:45 the Terps take on Tech on the road where Gt is 3-0 in ACC competition. Included in these 3 victories is a 20 point win over Carolina.

Georgie Tech presents a very tall and powerful starting lineup, one that could cause matchup problems for Maryland. 6-6 Brian … Read More »

I thought Maryland would win easy which you heard if you listened to Terp talk last night, but I thought Jordan might lead the way. Well. last night it was Adrian Bowie and PeShon Howard who combined for a totally dominating effort while they were on the court together.  Adrian hit several open shots on sharp passing from from the Freshman guard from Oak Hill. PeShon was 4-5 from the field with 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 0 … Read More »

Anticipating the impending snowstorm, Gary and his troops left for Charlottesville Wednesday at 1PM. What will we see on Comcast tonight at 7PM.

UVA is a guard oriented more deliberate team then Maryland. The Hoos stand at 11-8 and 2-3 in the ACC. Out of coference they have lost to Stanford, Washington, Seattle (who Maryland drubbed) and Wichita State. UVA has wins over LSU, Oklahoma, and most notably Virginia Tech on the road. Maryland has 2 winnable games this week at UVA on Thursday and Georgia Tech on Sunday. Two wins would right the shipand perehaps begin the trail back into the NCAA dance. It can opnly happen with stellar play fromthe 3 seniors. It seems that when they do well it triggers the rest of the team. The games will continue to be close and victories will be hard fought battles. I still believe it will take 10 conference wins for Maryland … Read More »

It’s good to be back in the win column but I assure you it took a heackuva effort to complte the task. Afterward Gary was extremely pleased with the play of his Seniors, as Adrian, Cliff and Dino played excellent games. Some thoughts on a tough ACC battle:

Gary post game:”I thought our offense was as efficient as it’s been in a while. Clemson is a team that has been winning, and you can tell by the way they play. … Read More »

Tonight needs to be that game that begins to turn the season around for Maryland. it will not be an easy task as the opponent always gives Maryland fits. Senior Malcolm Dulaney, fron Baltimore leads the Hokies in most categories and is certainly the heart of the team. Forward Jeff Allen has  been a thorn in the side of the Terps for years. Hopefully Jordan Williams and the rest of his mates overcome the free throw problem that has plagued … Read More »

What a pleasurable evening. I had the pleasure of dining with PeShon Howard and Mychal Parker. Both are wonderful kids and both are loving their life at College Park. This was part of the Fastbreakers event at Comcast. After watching practice, Gary spoke to the crowd. Then about 15 minutes later the members had dinner with the players. President of the … Read More »
