Finally after months of discussion and anticipation, Greivis Vasquez and the Maryland Terrapins return to the hardwood at 8PM at the Comcast Center. With the addition of James Padgett and Jordan Williams, the Terps have solved the big man problem they faced last year. I will blog live from the game tonight and certainly will have a post game summary with interviews.
First things first–this was only an exhibition game but Gary’s teams always play at a frenetic pace. Tonight was no exception. Some comments on the game.
The 2 Freshmen turned in excellent performances after shaking away 1st game jitters. James Padgett was 4-5 from the field and had 4 rebounds in 22 minutes of action. His inside moves are excellent. Jordan Williams is a physical force and will undoubtedly see more time as the year goes on. Jordan finished with … Read More »
Since most of my reading audience will either be at the game tonight or listening, don’t forget to TIVO the ESPN Special on Len Bias tonight at 8PM.
It’s only an exhibition game but every Terrapin fan greatly anticipates tonight’s game. My guess for the starting lineup will be Bowie, Greivis, Sean Mosley, Landon, and Dino at the 5. I would not be shocked if Gary starts Eric Hayes over Adrian Bowie, simply because Eric is a Senior. I am sure that Freshmen James Padgett and Jordan Williams will each get significant PT tonight. I certainly will be at the game tonight and probably will be blogging live. … Read More »
The best news of the day is the return of the offensive prowess of Senior guard Eric Hayes who has been nursing a turf toe. Eric seems to have found his shooting which will be so crucial for the Terps. Steve Goins sat out the practice with knee problems. Jordan Williams’ play was certainly improved over last week. Mosley and Padgett continued their tough as nails game. Padgett will get strong PT for a Freshman.Tuesday night can’t come soon enough. … Read More »
If you are free today, go out to College Park and watch the intrasquad scrimmage at Comcast. It’s a great chance to to preview the 09-10 team.
Listen in tonight to hear Gary reflect on his career at Maryland. It’s a short but very intriquing interview. We will play the highlights on Terp talk tonight. Click Listen Live on the website to hear the show or tune in to ESPN 1300 AM Radio.. We will also have a Hollywood guest on tonight to preview the new series on F/X tonight called The League, about Fantasy Football. Dino will be in for the all Terrapin news.
Each time I watch Lance’s high school teammate, I keep saying to myself can this guy be this good? James has great inside moves, his strength belies his size but his ability to continue moving without the ball will be what James will be remembered by. The continued improvement of Steve Goins and the development of Jordan Williams will be the key factors in the effect Padgett will have as a Freshman. Again, I anxiously await next Tuesday night.

It was an impressive scrimmage where the pace and quality of play was all out for 40 minutes. Some observations.
Sean Mosley’s floor game was sensational as he finished with 21 points and 10 assists. Sean had many fast break passes that were perfect and led to snowbird layups.
When I first saw James Padgett dominate the Towson Under Armour game with his inside moves , I could not get too excited because of the level of competition. But yeaterday … Read More »
