Maryland’s Danny O’Brien was honored Monday by the Atlantic Coast Conference for his play in Saturday’s 42-28 victory over FIU.  O’Brien was voted the league’s rookie of the week after completing 18 of 27 passes for 250 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.  Starting the first game of his collegiate career, O’Brien led the Terps on five scoring drives and had an efficiency rating of 168.89, the seventh-highest mark by a freshman in the NCAA FBS this season. from … Read More »

What I am worried about today:

If anything happens to Jamarr who is going to take over the offense.

Lots of pressure on the Terps in a must win situation.

IS THE OLINE TOUGH ENOUGH TO SPRING DA”REL.

How in the world can the Terps be a heavy favorite.

Can the defense get off to a strong start and just take FIU out of the game.

Starting Maryland left tackle Justin Gilbert is out for the season with a torn ACL, coach Ralph Friedgen said Tuesday, a setback for an offensive line that surrendered eight sacks against West Virginia and struggled with injuries and inexperience last season. “Justin was really playing very well for us. We were very pleased with him,” Friedgen said. “My major concern with losing an offensive lineman was being forced to play a redshirt freshman again.” Now Maryland will do … Read More »

Finally the deal is done.  The University of Maryland and the University of Texas have agreed to a two-year home-and-home football series. Maryland will travel to Austin, Texas, on Sept. 2, 2017 for a game with the Longhorns. Texas will make the return trip to Maryland on Sept. 1, 2018. Just for the record that is 7 years from now!!! I am glad the game will be in College park and not Fed Ex Field.

I was hoping this wouldn’t happen this year but the loss to WVU and the fact that Duke is 0-2 probably sealed the fate of an internet game. ESPN3.com is a great improvement over ESPN360, however. Saturday’s game against FIU is on ESPNU.

The Navy win looks bigger and bigger right now.

I always have the tendency to see the bright side of every Terrapin game:

After the score was 21-0 WV was very ineffective on offense.

Jamarr showed off his arm and it resulted in 2 bombs to Torrey and getting the Terps back in the game.

Torrey Smith will be tremendous at the next level.

It seems like Devine has been at WV for 8 years but I guess I … Read More »

West Virginia At-A-Glance…

• West Virginia enters Saturday’s matchup 2-0 after a come-from-behind, 24-21 overtime victory at Marshall on Sept. 10.

• The Mountaineers have a number of dynamic playmakers on offense, including running backs Noel Devine and Tavon Austin, quarterback Geno Smith and receiver Jock Sanders.

• Devine leads West Virginia in rushing with a 111.5 ypg average, and the senior has also ran for two touchdowns. At 5-foot-8, Devine is also a threat on screen … Read More »

“Obviously I was really pleased with the way we finished the game against Navy. Last year we couldn’t do that, and I think that was a huge hurdle to overcome. I was very concerned that we would have a letdown against Morgan State. They are a very young team that has gone from everyone criticizing them to everyone patting them on the back, and it is human nature to let your guard down when that happens. For the most part, … Read More »

It’s great game and a great move by Maryland to lock in this opponent. Saturday’s game is at Noon in West Virginia. The FIU game at College park will be at Noon as well.

Ralph reported today that Danny , who had an excellent game should recover from his mild ankle injury and be avaiable against WVU. Will Yeatman should also be available though he will be wearing a cast.
