Again the d could not stop Marc Verica early- 165 yards passing in first half
Virginia had 14 penalties for the day—however several were for pass interference that saved touchdowns. Early in the first half a UVA corner virtually tackled Torrie that saved a TD –Terps were rewarded with a 15 yard penalty—rule must be changed

Nothing else needs to be said. Can the Terps stop QB Verica and the UVA offense. Can a 60 minute team show up today. This is a CRUCIAL win for the Terps for many reasons.
I guess if you would have told me that the Terps would be 6-3 at this point of the season back before the Navy game, I would have signed a contract. But as you saw today the Terps are probably every bit as good as anyone in the conference save Virginia Tech. The turnaround has been quick and a big step could have been taken today with a victory. Maybe it was a slow process. But DHB is beginning to show the promise that led him to be the 8TH pick in the NFL Draft. yesterday against Seattle he had 5 receptions for 101 yards including a 69 yard TD pass. He also ran once for 30 yards. The Raiders crushed Seattle 33-3.
I definitely thought the Terps would win this game today but certainly not in the natter they did. As we discussed on the Sports Maven Saturday morning, QB! It’s all in front of the Terps tomorrow afternoon at 3:30. It is a game Maryland is favorite and should winn. Wake is reeling from a 5 game losing streak. Several Bowl Officials will be present as the Terps go for their bowl eligible 6th victory. It’s ahrd to imagine the same team that went 2-10 last year should end tomorrow at 6-2 with a monster matchup looming in Miami next week. the differenc: QB1 Danny O’Brien
The Terps like the Ravens are winning ugly but the key is they are winning. Entering the Homecoming Game against Wake this Saturday at 3:30, many of the Bowl reps will be in attendance and the Terps have a chance to impress.
3 Hours and 20 minutes of excruciating ESPN3 Play By Play later the outlook is much brighter for the Terrapins. Playing inspired ball for their teammate Pete DeSouza, who is suffering from 2 broken legs, the Terps made some big defensive plays to save the game.
