Some observations of a strange but exciting victory:
Scott McBrien said it best in pre-game: it’s time for Chris Turner to put the team on his shoulders and march to victory. Chris did just that. He engineered 2 great drives in the 2nd quarter when the Terps took command of the game.
After LT Bruce Campbell left the game the offensive line fell apart. 98 and 99 for Clemson were literally in the offensive backfiekd within a split second of … Read More »

What do the Terps have to do to have a chance to win:
Contain CJ Spiller and Jacoby Ford–2 of the fastest athletes in College Football
Chris Turner must turn his game around after his worst performance as a Terp and stay away from DeAndre McDaniel
Cut the turnovers to 0 even if we have to play a more conservative game.
Stop the ridiculous penalties
Probably a special teams touchdown from Torrey or Tony Logan
This was just announced with one addition that will not make any Terrapin fan happy. The game will only be televised on ESPN 360. Say no more.
From our first offensive series against Cal this team has shown a propensity for mistakes. Here is my question—why so many mistakes. Are the players so overmatched there is an overanxiousness as the play begins? If we have 0 turnovers and just a few penalties against Clemson will we win? Did Chris Turner have such a bad game because he is hearing footsteps from anticipated pressure? Why are our running backs so ineffective after years of standing out? Why does … Read More »
The No. 1-ranked Maryland field hockey team pulled away from No. 3 Wake Forest, 4-1, Saturday in a classic conference rivalry match. Four Terps scored in the win, while senior goalkeeper Alicia Grater notched four saves to keep the Terps perfect at 10-0 (2-0) on the year. This game was a rematch of last year’s national championship game and ACC championship game, in which the Terps claimed both crowns. … Read More »
Rutgers 31 Maryland 13 says it all. Some observations ona dismal afternoon:
4th and 3 from midfield and we go for it? Rutgers presented the most pathetic offense I have seen for a Terp opponent. Pin them back and maybe a good punt return or turnover or anything positive could happen.
The 2 way after the whistle unsportsmanlike conduct calls were killers. Why? Where is any discipline?
What would the score had been if Savage (QB1 for Rutgers) played?
Torrie … Read More »
It’s gut check time today for Maryland. “I thought we had a good week of practice,” Friedgen said. “Right now we need to get a win. It would be very important for us. Obviously, I was hoping we would win last week so these guys start gaining some confidence. I still think we’ve played three good teams. Whatever the perception might be, Look for Adrian Cannon and DaRel Scott to have big games today.
