Men’s cross country and men’s indoor track and field, the sports of acrobatics and tumbling, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, water polo and men’s tennis have been discontinued, effective July 1.

Funding has been raised for men’s outdoor track and field to reach its first benchmark goal, but seven other sports have been discontinued at the University of Maryland, athletics director Kevin Anderson announced Monday.
