Patrick Stevens reports in the Wash Times: Note it’s great that Patrick and the Times have reunited. He is one of the most dedicated journalists I have met:

Maryland forward Jordan Williams said he has not put any consideration into his pro prospects as his sophomore season has wound to a close. Williams, who was named to the all-ACC first team on Monday, is averaging 16.9 points and a league-best 11.6 rebounds. “I’m not even thinking about that,” Williams said. “I’m just … Read More »

This was not one of the Wizards finer efforts and i will leave it at that.

Listening to the postgame how Glenn Consor asked to name the all time Bullet/Wizard team only worrying about the 5 best players. I called in with my take

Earl Monroe    Wes Unseld    Gus Johnson    Gilbert Arenas     Elvin Hayes

There is an unwritten rule in lacrosse for one time never to cross the 20 goal threshhold when stomping another team. Cathy Reese’s #1 lady Terps were leading 17-0 at halftime. Not wanting to embarrass anyone Cathy put the reigns on her squad. Total domination by the defending NCAA Champs.

Five Maryland pitchers combined for a complete-game shutout andRyan Holland ripped a three-run triple off the right-field wall as part of a five-run seventh inning to lead the Terps over Delaware 8-0 Tuesday afternoon. Sophomore lefty Jimmy Reed (1-1) came on in relief of starter Chuck Ghysels in the fourth and needed just 11 pitches to get through two innings thanks to a pair of inning-ending double plays. In ESPN The Magazine, Baltimore’s Jeff Pinkner (Producer of The Fringe) wrote an article in jest about the headline topic. My opinion as to what would have happened had Elway been a Colt:

The Colts never would have left Baltimore. There was a slight euphoria after the Colts drafted Elway.  Elway threatened to play baseball for the Yankees but finally gave in to a sign and trade type deal. Bob Irsay either didn’t want to pay Elway but more then … Read More »

Travis Reed and Ryan Young brought the Terrapin attack back to life each registering a hat trick as the Terps moved to 3-1 on the season. Some super saves by Bellarmine’s goalie kept the game respectable. Coach Tillman emptied the bench in the 4th quarter as Bellarmine closed the gap. Next up for Maryland –Towson state on Saturday at 11 AM at Johnny U Stadium.

Maryland’s Jordan Williams has been selected to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Basketball first team, while Terrell Stoglin is an All-Freshman selection. The All-ACC teams were announced Monday following a vote of 75 members of the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association. Williams received the second-most points (210) of any player, behind Duke’s Nolan Smith, who was the lone unanimous pick. A sophomore, Williams is the only underclassman on the first-team; Smith, Malcolm Delaney of Virginia Tech and Kyle Singler of Duke are seniors, … Read More »

Maryland’s Jordan Williams earned spots on both the FOXSports.com and Yahoo! Sports All-America basketball teams. Williams, who ranks first in the Atlantic Coast Conference and third nationally in rebounding (11.6 per game), was a 3rd team selection in announcements Monday by both organizations. The sophomore is also second in the ACC in shooting percentage (54.1) and sixth in scoring (16.9 points per game). He has posted a single-season school record 23 double-doubles this year, a mark which ranks third nationally. Great and … Read More »

If it’s believable I like the draw the Terps have. We handled NC State at Comcast on Greivis Vasquez Day and if I had the choice, I believe Duke is the better matchup for the Terps. That is considering the alternative would be North Carolina who is just way too skilled at the big man level for Maryland. There is still a little optimism left. The NC State game is at 7PM Thursday so much of Thursday night’s Terp Talk … Read More »
