Lynetta Kizer and Alyssa Thomas led the Terps to a relatively easy victory over the #7 Duke Blue Devils Thursday night at Comcast. Brenda commented post game: “[It’s] a special win any time you play Duke and you come out and play the way this team did. I thought we showed a lot of heart and character by responding. Obviously we were disappointed from our last two games. We played a really dominating 40 minutes. We kept our poise and … Read More »

Coaches John Tillman and Erik Bakich should be checking in
Will 2011 be the turnaround year for Maryland Baseball? Coach Bakich explains the difference in this year’s team: “The thing we have this year that’s not been seen at Maryland in the past is interchangeable depth,” said head coach Erik Bakich. “The bench is almost as good as the starters. We’ve got a second team that is just as good as any one we’re going to run up there.” Early in the season, Bakich expects to trot out a number of lineups … Read More »
Just like the men, the Lady Terps always focus in on the home game vs Duke. Duke is 9-1 in the ACC and Maryland would love to improve its post season resume. The crowd should be around 10,000 which means there are still tickets. Some facts about Duke:
Duke is 23-2 overall, 9-1 in the ACC, and 10-2 on the road this season. The Blue Devils pulled out the first meeting this year, a 71-64, hard-fought win in Durham. Most … Read More »
No. 1 Maryland’s offense was once again on display as Karri Ellen Johnson and Katie Schwarzmann combined for 10 goals in a 17-8 rout of Delaware Wednesday. Johnson, who boasts a team-high 12 goals this season, extended her streak to 47 games with a score at 15:53. It would be the junior’s first of three in a three-minute span as Maryland went on a devastating 12-1 run to begin the contest. Penn State is next up for the Terps Sunday afternoon.
Maryland head football coach Randy Edsall completed his staff Wednesday with the announcement that Todd Bradford has been promoted to defensive coordinator and Keith Dudzinski hired to coach the inside linebackers. Bradford was hired last month as inside linebackers coach and now assumes a role he’s been successful in at past stops. Bradford, who has coached in Conference USA, the Big 12 and Big Ten, has served as a coordinator on both sides of the ball, including the last three seasons as … Read More »

Some observations of a VERY disappointing loss at the Cassel in Blacksburg.
—10 Wins in the conference is going to be a tough task. Whereas I expect the Terps to win their final 3 homes against UVA, NC State, and FSU without Chris Singleton, winning the last 2 road games is a tall task. Carolina is suddenly playing like a top team and Maryland always has trouble in Coral Gables. Therefore with 8 or 9wins in the conference we might … Read More »
