This one makes no sense to me but I am sure the bankruptcy Judge will have a lot to say. In a shocking development the Sun reports: The Canadian conglomerate that owns bankrupt Magna Entertainment Corp. is buying Laurel Park and Pimlico Race Course from the financially strapped company … Read More »

While reading up on everyone’s end-of-Maryland-basketball-season thoughts, I came across one of the most powerful sports-related videos I’ve ever seen.  Dan Steinberg posted a video of an interview done with Gary Williams by NBC’s Lindsay Czarniak in his blog post on March 23rd.  Before I go on about this video, click the link and take a look.

Executive VP and General Manager Ernie Grunfeld:

I hope you were at the Verizon Center watching the most charismatic athlete to enter the Baltimore Washington scene since #52–that of course is Greivis Vasquez. Mike Wise writes only as he can today. He tells the Greivis Vasquez story. It is still hard to deal with the fact #21 is gone from College park.

Maryland Basketball

What was so improbable about the end of the game makes you forget what was impossible. After Greivis made the first bucket to put the Terps ahead–Draymond Green a 6’6 235 lb bruising rebounder who had gone 0-3 in the previous game swished an 18 foot pull up jumper. What?
