Maryland vs Hopkins is big no matter what year it has been played. But this year is a little different. In the past 2 years Hopkins came into the Maryland game desperately needing a win. In 2007, the Bluejays won 5-4 in overtime which triggered a run to their 2nd NCAA championship team in 3 years. Last year, Hopkins win started their run to the championship game. Hopefully the slumping Terrapins can use this game as a springboard to a … Read More »
How long can the bullpen survive these near misses. Timely hitting and George Sherrill again keyed a 5-4 Oriole victory before 22,000 Friday night at Camden Yards. I am sure the eyes of Trembley and MacPhail are already cast to Norfolk and Bowie for soon to be needed bullpen help. On the other hand, 4th starter Mark Hendrickson allowed just 1 run on 6 hits in 5 1/3 innings.Put this one in the win column.
Will this please come to an end. Adam Zagoria agains changed themes announcing that since it now clearly appears Kansas has lost interest in Lance, he is now taking an official visit to St John’s this weekend. For whatever reason Bill Self paid a visit to Lance’s home Friday afternoon. Again it just seems like the Terps are out of the picture, but that’s today.
Keith Cavanaugh of terrapintimes.com reports that Terrell Vinson is UMass bound.

Somebody email me and tell me I am crazy. Why win this game tonight? Sacramento insured itself of the highest probability of getting the rights to the clearest draft franchise player in years, Blake Griffin. The Wizards moved to 19-61 with a victory while the Clippers are 19-60. Adding Blake Griffin to the Wizards turns them into instant contenders.
Remember this is just what ESPN says. The line of reasoning is strong until ressurection of the Johnnies’ program is brought up. Lance can’t do this by himself. Maryland is the better fit if the match comes down to these 3 universities. Terrell would be an interesting selection because of his shooting range. From my limited observation of Vinson, one thing I know for sure. this kid can shoot!!!!!. From Jayhawk country, former Terrapin recruit, Quintrell Thomas, has … Read More »
Starters #1 and #2 proved to be more then adequate in the opening series. The verdict on #3,4,5, will not be known for a while but the opening argument was very weak. Tex, Cano, and Swisher all homered for th Yanks as a key bases loaded strikeout in the bottom of the 3rd by Aubrey Huff turned the tide to the Bombers. Pennant winning Tampa invades Camden Yards tonight.
The 1st pick of the Ravens remains a mystery tonight much … Read More »
Four years of dedicated team play paid off on Thursday, as 2 Terrapin superstars, Mariisa Coleman and Kristi Tolliver were selected 2nd and 3rd in the WNBA draft. Marissa joins former Maryland teammate, Crystal Langhorne, who was also a 1st round pick for the Mystics last year. Coach Brenda Frese was on hand for the festivities. Fifteen of the top women’s basketball prospects have been invited to the 2009 WNBA Draft on Thursday, April 9 at the NBA Entertainment studios in Secaucus, N.J., with coverage beginning at 3 p.m. on ESPN2. The Maryland Terrapins will be represented by a pair of senior standouts in guard/forward Marissa Coleman and point guard Kristi Toliver.
I expect both Terrapins to be in the top five picks with Kristi Tolliver going to Phoenix with pick #5.
This is one story that has no ending.According to zagsblog.com the Born ready group has denied that a commitment was made to St John’s. here is my take on the situation:
The second Xavier Henry agrres to attend Kansas, the Jayhawks are out of the picture. Lance won’t see the seed with Sherron Collins in the lineup let alone the addition of X.
Kentucky’s Calipari has stated he has no interest in Lance.
The supporting cast at St John’s … Read More »
It will not take long for Koji to become a folk hero in Baltimore if he continues to pitch like he did last night. The O’s coasted to a 7-5 victory behind the clutch hitting of Nick Markakis. George Sherrill was forced to enter the game in the 9th to retire Matsui and preserve the victory.
