It’s a great day for Maryland basketball. The Terrapin Times released the news Monday night that Power forward/ Center Jordan Williams from Connecticut has indeed chosen to attend the University of Maryland in a close decision over St John’s. Check Driesell was the lead recruiter for Williams and Jordan informed Chuck of his decision on the phone Monday.
“Coach Williams said they need a scorer in the paint, and they feel like I can play both the … Read More »
Some observations of a great Sunday I spent in Miami:
There could not have been more then 45000 at the game and this included a very vocal 7000 Ravens fans.
Great redemption day for Cam Cameron.
I was shocked when the Ravens went on defense and there was no #21 present. I wonder what the real story is.
Unlike the Terps, the Ravens won the toss and deferred. I cannot understand this philosophy. Get the ball, get the lead.

Wake’s Defensive Secondary? Chris Turner torched this vaunted defense for 321 yds completing 29 of 41 with no picks. I thought Darrius would have a breakout game and he did, catching 11 passes for 101 yards and 1 td. Riley Skinner never really mounted a significant drive as the the Terrapin defense throttled possession after possession. Is this the same team that lost 31-0 to UVA? Obi connected on 4 FGs hitting his ninth in a … Read More »
The much anticipated arrival of Sean Mosley signals a new era of Maryland Basketball. Certain players have changed the landscape of Maryland basketball. Joe Smith, Keith Boothe , Juan Dixon, and now Mr Baltimore 2007. Coach Williams is anxiously awaiting the start of practice tomorrow. Mosley will bring a toughness to this lineup that hasn’t been seen in years. Coach Williams was on Terp Talk a few days ago–listen to the interview williams-2008. Guard depth is the key … Read More »
As I spoke on Terp Talk Thursday night, Maryland is not as bad as it seemed against UVA and certainly Wake is no power. Wake’s defense is excellent though, but Riley Skinner will have trouble moving the ball against a fired up Terrapin defense. Look for Darrius to have a big day and the Terps will win ona last second field goal by Obi Egekeze.
Odds and ends on Wednesday night
—With Dave Neal graduating nexyt spring that’s 8 out of 10 Seniors for the Terps 80%
—Wake Forest —way overrated–Navy 24 Deacons 17
—Phillies Close out Dodgers with a team built by Pat Gillick–on to the series
—Midnight Madness tomorrow night–Debut of Sean Mosley
— Rilet Skinner the best QB in the ACC===maybe
— Can Turner go 5-0 vs ranked teams
—When will Darrius have a breakout game
—Wizards in pre season freefall

North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest are in the top 20 in both polls this week. If the Terps can take care of business at home, the season can still be considered an excellent win despite the 2 losses so far. Sidenote, Cal is 4-1 and #25. The loss at Maryland is keeping them out of national BCS contention. Strange season!!! Texas, having the toughest schedule in the country rests atop the rankings after its Red River … Read More »
By 1:30 yeaterday afternoon, it was very clear the Ravens would be beaten badly by the Indy Colts. Some observations of the wekend’s events
Maryland’s Jared Gaither seemed to hold his own against Dwight Freeney.
Flacco’s 241 passing yds were totally misleading The Team only had gained about 100 yds by halftime!!!
The Redskins losing to the lowly Rams barely lifte my sprits.
Toedo 13 Michigan 10–sorry Karl, be patient
Why in the world would Dungy play Manning … Read More »
After a weak back nine on Saturday, Fred Funk tormed out of the gate to finish 1 shot behind the eventual winner. A 15 ft putt on 18 was barely missed by the ex Maryland Golf Coach. The greens at BCC gave the pros fits and thus all of the players in contention struggled down the stretch.
Though I have been predicting Ravens losses this year, tomorrow is the time for the upset. Why? Bob Saunders is out for the Colts. Saunders is to the Colts as #52 is to the Ravens. The Ravens will run the eball down Indy’s throat. The key match up of he day is Maryland’s Jared Gaither vs perennial all pro def end Dwight Freeney. J O always had trouble with Freeney and I believe this will continue. Kickoff … Read More »
