The visit to College Park was Jackson’s (6’7″ 185) first time seeing the Maryland campus, and he came away very impressed with what he saw.

First the Ravens. 40-17 Eagles tells the story. This was never a game. The deeper story was Suggs being accused of taking a cheap shot at the knees of Sam Bradford. In the meaningless 4th quarter 3rd string QB threw 2 TD passes and Terrence McGee rushed for 44 yards. Truthfully I missed 1/2 the 2nd quarter and the entire 3rd after I fell asleep. Exhibition football sucks especially after seeing 3 or 4 potential serious injuries to the Ravens.

Talk about a program which has turned things around in recent years! Just look at the Maryland Terrapins.
In Mark Turgeon’s first three years at College Park, the Terps didn’t have an NCAA tournament trip on the résumé. There was a nice run to the NIT semifinals in 2012-13, and a pair of 17-15 finishes. Last season, there was a little pressure on Turgeon, and the Terps came through.

Taped on Monday night, I mentioned in segment 3 that as well as Clevenger hits and Urrutia showed lots of promise, I wondered why it took so long to get them up and let the deadweight brigade vanish. The rest is history. It was an important psychological win for the O’s as they finish the season 1-3 against the Mets.
Make no mistake about it Frankie Valli still has a tremendous voice. On stage for almost 2 hours, the great Valli belted out 4 Seasons Favorites plus a few surprises—Spanish Harlem, Tell it to the Rain, My Guy, and Let it Be Me. My favorites of the night–Dawn, Workin My Way Back to You, and Begging. I always love going to Wolff Trap. Accoustics are awesome, parking is free and easy, and I believe the performers love playing there, a … Read More »
