The Rondae Hollis-Jefferson era in Portland is over before it even started.

The Trail Blazers traded Jefferson, the No. 23 pick in the 2015 NBA draft, and veteran point guard Steve Blake to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for center Mason Plumlee and rookie guard Pat Connaughton, the No. 41 pick in the draft.

Connaughton, a 6-foot-5 guard, averaged 10.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in four years at Notre Dame. He was also a standout pitcher on Notre … Read More »

Dez is actually better off not being drafted in the 2nd round.  He can pick the teams he wants to try out for. 2nd round picks do not have guaranteed contracts.

Just a note–Andrew Harrison –a 2nd round pick.  Aaron Harrison bypassed. Lost in the Kentucky wilderness. Calipari wasn’t so great for the twins. Now we know why Dad look depressed the day of the announcement to Kentucky. They would have showcased at Maryland rather then role players for passing the … Read More »

The Bucks REALLY wanted our guy. That 1st round pick is a protected lottery pick. Greivis is the final year of a 3 year $6.6 million dollar contract.

Boston 5  O’s 1    Though I predicted a victory for the Red Sox because of the pitching matchup, Bud Norris gave the O’s 5 good innings before his defense led to his pitching collapse.

UVA 4  Vandy 2   You could smell this one from a mile away. Makes me sick to my stomach for obvious reasons.

So with the O’s an obvious loser after the 6th inning, and UVA march to a title that could have been Maryland’s, … Read More »

One of the adjustments Maryland fans have had to make moving from the ACC to the Big Ten has been finding ways to adapt to the tradition laden conference. The Terps took one step along that road when they created the Rivalry Game and Trophy for what will now be an annual men’s lacrosse game with Johns Hopkins. Another B1G Tradition – one that started in 1982 for men and 1983 for women, is to have each member institution nominate … Read More »

I’m no sports maven but because I write about so many different sports, I often find myself engaged in conversations with people in which I casually mention some fact that they find unexpected. Recently, I surprised someone when I noted that some of Maryland’s best women’s lacrosse players, including probably the greatest of them all Jen Adams, have come to the Terrapins from Australia.

I mention this because about 10 days ago the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) announced its … Read More »
