Two weeks ago, Maryland released an item that qualifies for inclusion in the basketball news non-Rasheed Sulaimon commitment division when the Terrapins became on of just three NCAA teams who had a trio of players invited to the USA Basketball Women’s Pan American Games and World University Games Team Trials. However when Hopkins took apart Syracuse though only winning by a goal, I was convinced that the artificial high rankings of the ACC was just that–artificial. When a #5 team like Duke takes apart a #1 like Cuse in the ACC tourney what does it really mean.

Midfielder Ben Hunt totaled five points while goalkeeper Tyler Fiorito recorded 16 saves, but a gutsy effort by the Chesapeake Bayhawks came up just short as the New York Lizards pulled out a 15-14 win at James M. Shuart Stadium on Long Island.
Hunt did all his damage in the third quarter, scoring four goals with one a 2-pointer. Fiorito stood tall all day in the face of 46 shots, a whopping 31 of which were on target. … Read More »
