What he brings: On the one hand, Perriman is an outstanding big-play threat with his combination of size and speed, and he brought down a lot of really difficult catches on 50-50 balls. On the other hand, his 14 percent college drop percentage is a major red flag when combined with the issues he had catching some routine passes on tape. The upside is there with him, but so is the risk.
How he fits: After losing Torrey … Read More »

In 2014, Maryland’s baseball season likely plunged to the vertex of the parabolic arc of its season in a late April series when the Terps dropped three straight to Boston College in Chestnut Hill followed by a 6-2 loss at home to James Madison. Those losses left the Terrapins in danger of posting a third consecutive thirty win season for the first time in program history but still being on the outside looking in at the … Read More »
Food for thought: Before Saturday night’s loss to Johns Hopkins, the last time the Maryland men’s lacrosse team lost a game was February 14th to Yale in a game played in New Haven. In that contest, the teams were tied at six all entering the fourth quarter and the Elis outscored the Terps 4-0 to grab a 10-6 win. Saturday night, Maryland led 10-9 entering the fourth quarter before the Blue Jays outscored the Terps by four (6-2) to triumph … Read More »

Maryland players occupy eight of the 20 spots available on the Big Ten Women’s All-Conference Team. Nine players were unanimous selections and five of those come from the roster of the undefeated conference champs.
Taylor Cummings
No surprises here. Cummings has done nothing as a junior to take any sheen off her National Player of the Year sophomore season. If anything, she has shown a more well-rounded game in 2015. Cummings is second on the team … Read More »

Terps Might be in the lead for Rasheed Sulaimon, Duke Transfer
It’s been a while since we’ve heard from former Blue Devil Rasheed Sulaimon, who has flown under the radar after his dismissal from Duke amid sexual assault allegations in January.
Multiple reports on Tuesday linked the 6-4, 195-pound guard to Maryland.
The transfer to Maryland would not ultimately be surprising because Terrapins coach Mark Turgeon recruited the Houston native heavily out of high school while he was the head coach at Texas A&M.
It’s unclear at this time whether … Read More »
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Senior Casey Ikeda earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors Tuesday, leading a throng of individual accolades for the Maryland men’s lacrosse team as voted upon by Big Ten coaches.
The Terps placed four players on the All-Big Ten First Team – more than any team – including Kyle Bernlohr, Ikeda, Joe LoCascio and Matt Rambo. Additionally, Jay Carlson and Charlie Raffa earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honors. Carlson garnered Maryland’s Sportsmanship Award, as … Read More »
In the wake of Maryland’s disappointing and, to some, upsetting men’s lacrosse loss to Johns Hopkins Saturday night, I thought it the appropriate time to take a big picture look at some great things that are happening in and around Maryland’s athletic department.
A MINI RANT
Let me start with a few words about the lacrosse game. This loss was disappointing but not a tragedy. To the inevitable John Tillman critics who will doubtless emerge from the hidey holes where … Read More »
