The team reached an agreement on a four-year contract extension with cornerback Jimmy Smith Tuesday afternoon, locking him up to a long-term deal before he enters the final year of his rookie contract. Smith is now signed through the 2019 season.
“I’m tremendously happy,” Smith said minutes after reaching the deal. “I plan on getting rings.”

As the puck trickled between Braden Holtby’s pads and into the Washington Capitals’ goal early in the third period, tying Game 7 at one goal apiece, there was a moment where many in Verizon Center wondered if this was the beginning of yet another grisly piece of Game 7 history for this franchise.

The Terps got back on track by sweeping … Read More »

It’s time to enter the no spin zone of Maryland lacrosse:
Charlie Raffa opened the game up thoroughly dominating Drew Kennedy by actually winning the first 5 face offs. But then 2 things happen. Enter Hunter Moreland (Fr from Boys Latin) and suddenly the face off battle was equalized. I admit I was shocked. Then Hopkins leveled 3 brutal hits on Raffa basically taking him out of the game. Basically the rest was history.
The Blue Jays became the first … Read More »
