The No. 1 Maryland women’s lacrosse team clinched at least a share of the ACC regular season title with a 14-13 victory against No. 2 North Carolina Saturday.

The Terps (14-0, 4-0 ACC) were led by senior Katie Schwarzmann and freshman Taylor Cummings, who recorded five and four goals, respectively. Brooke Griffin added three assists as Maryland set a new attendance record for a lacrosse game at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex with a crowd of 2,347.

Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has agreed to portray the late Johnny Unitas in an upcoming film called “Unitas We Stand,” according to Joe Unitas, Johnny Unitas’ son.

Joe Unitas told The Baltimore Sun that Flacco will play his father playing football in the final scenes depicting the Colts’ 1958 championship game victory.

Running back Joe Riddle put up a dominant performance in his hometown as the Maryland football team held a scrimmage at Middletown High School in Middletown, Md., Saturday. Riddle, who played at rival Linganore High School in Frederick, Md., did not see action last season at Maryland as a freshman, but is beginning to make a name for himself in the spring.
