All weekend all the commentators talked about was what an advantage it was for Adam Scott to have Stevie on his bag. You could have fooled me. After Adam Scott birdied the 14th hole, Stevie Williams and Scott started the victory celebration. What followed the next 4 holes was a collapse of epic proportions. 4 bogeys in 4 holes. Bye Bye Major. A collapse the Aussie might never recover from. Tiger’s triple bogey will be the hole remembered that did … Read More »
Maryland men’s lacrosse rising sophomore Charlie Raffa won 10 faceoffs to help propel the U.S. under-19 men’s national team to a Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) U19 World Championship on Saturday, with a 10-8 victory over Canada.
The win for the U.S. capped a comeback run through the tournament after dropping a pair of pool play games to the Iroquois and the Canadians one week ago.
Team USA dominated on faceoffs, winning 17-of-22 as a team with Tyler Barbarich winning seven … Read More »
Jim Thome delivered in a big way tonight. Trailing 1-0 in the 7th, Thome’s 2 run HR certainly was his biggest hit since joining the O’s. Chris Tillmangave the O’s a solid 6 1/3 inning performance. Tuesday night I was just about ready to throw in the towel but 4 straight road wins has returned optimism to Oriole nation.
Goalie Kip Turner and the defense were the story as the Chesapeake Bayhawks escaped with an 11-7 road victory over the Ohio Machine on Saturday night at Selby Stadium. Turner made 16 saves and got great support from his long poles as the Bayhawks held the Machine to two goals in the second half. Veteran midfielder Kyle Dixon recorded a game-high four points to lead the Bayhawks, who outscored the host Machine 7-3 in the second half to improve to 5-1 on the road this … Read More »

It seems like the search committee landed a winner in replacing Michigan bound Erik Bakich. A few of the guys who closely follow the Terrapin nine were ecstatic with the hire of John Szefc.. Much of Bakich’s success was based on the work of his 3 assistants, the Baltimore legend, Bernie Walter, recruiting coordinator Dan Burton, and volunteer assistant Eric Milton. Look, the new Coach has every right to select his assistants but the recruiting successes of Walter and Burton … Read More »
It may seem Ed Reed knows what Ed Reed wants to do. At face value, it seems he flip-flops more then a politician during election season. I don’t follow that line of thinking. He knows exactly what he’s doing. The summer is a slow sports news time. Baseball is drudging through the middle of its seemingly years-long season, colleges are on break, and the “dream team” is beating teams by an average of 67 points or so. By spouting off now, … Read More »
