Someone please explain how in the world Aubrey Huff gets picked off 3rd base with 2 0ut and the score tied. Can Melvin Mora bunt? Why send Huff in the 10th when your hottest hitter is up next? Can a whole team go into a slump (except Luke of course). Ichiro’s hit streak is now up to 27.

Is Matt Wieters having this effect on the starting pitching? Rich Hill was untouchable last night pitching 7 innings, allowing just 2 hits. Johnson and Sherrill closed out the game for the O’s now 24-28. Mr Personality. Eric Bedard , faces the O’s tomorrow.

Well he is finally here. Matt wieters joins the other “future Orioles” this Friday night at Camden Yards. The lineup is starting to have the look that might bring people back to the yard. Certainly the outfield seems set for 5 years with Markakis, Jones, and Reimhold. The only weak spots left are shortstop and DH. I can’t wait to see Mr Wieters. All the hype has to mean something!!!

Arod, and Texeiera went deep again as the bullpen faltered and ended whatever chance the O’s could have had in 7 run 7th inning. The O’s #1 starter Jeremy Guthrie goes tomorrow against Phil Hughes. Meanwhile in Boston, Big Papi’s slump continues. The Red Sox might be looking Aubrey Huff’s way. Is it too early for the O’s to give up?

It’s the same old song for the Orioles. The Birds just cannot hold a late inning lead against their 2 dreaded enemies–Boston and New York. Behind the fabulous pitching from Koji, the O’s carried a 3-1 lead into the 7th inning.  First Jaime Walker gets clocked by Cano and then Johnny Damon belts a 3 run homer off Johnson. Case closed–Orioles lose before 33,000 Mothers’ day fans. Aubrey Huff provided all the O’s offense with a 3 run homer off of … Read More »

bergensenThis was one game I had to go see. The build up for Brad Bergesen leads every Oriole fan to believe he is part of the pitching solution. Brad did not disappoint, he was brilliant by Oriole standards. Trembley pulled him out wisely after 97 pitches and only an error by Wigginton on a routine grounder spoiled his effort. Aubrey slammed 2 dingers and Markakis went 4-4, as the … Read More »

I was watching the O’s game last night with a few friends and as the Orioles jumped to a 7-0 lead, I said dishearteningly to Jimmy Mo that the Red Sox would catch up by the 5th. The score after 5 was 8-8. Year after year we have to watch the Red Sox celebrate at our expense. After 10 games the O’s staff has given up 79 runs. It’s April 17 and the pitching is almost in shambles. I am beginning … Read More »

I always tell my co-host Dino, that Exhibition games are a total waste of time to watch. Hopefully the Orioles will continue to prove my hypothesis. Can you believe another strong pitching performance by an O’s starter. Melvin Mora in essence put the game into safety with a Grand Slam in the first. The O’s are 4-1 and go for the sweep tomorrow. I promise not to get excited until the O’s play their 50th game.

My first Oriole post in a long time but it was motivated by Aubrey Huff passing 100 RBI barrier tonight in the O’s 14-3 win over Cleveland.  316 BA, 102 rbis, and 31 HRs—he certainly should be a must in the lineup for the next few years.  Despite Millar’s desire to remain an Oriole, there is no room for him in this suddenly packed lineup. Get some pitching Andy. The stars are aligned in the O’s favor!!!

The Orioles fate for 2008 has now been sealed.  Sitting at 48-53 with the next 6 games against the Angels and Yankees, the Orioles will be mired in last place in the AL East and ready to entertain offers for George Sherrill and Aubrey Huff, 2 Orioles having career years. There is just no starting pitching on this squad with the exception of Guthrie. The next 7 days days should be very interesting.
