And, no, it’s not a player.
New Maryland coach Mark Turgeon’s first big recruit is in fact Kansas State assistant coach Dalonte Hill. As reported by various outlets (including the Washington Post) and confirmed by Turgeon to ESPN.com’s Andy Katz this afternoon, Hill will return to his native Washington to spearhead Turgeon’s recruiting efforts in and around the talent-rich D.C. metro area. According to Turgeon, while the terms of Hill’s deal are still … Read More »
WOW!! Bino, Scott Spinelli, and now prize package Dalonte Hill. Kudos to Mark Turgeon for putting this incredible staff together, arguably one of the strongest recruiting teams in the country. Much more tonight!!
But Delonte, who has tremendous ties to DC Assault and Team Takeover, will probably have to take a drastic pay cut to take the Maryland job. Pure speculatio but that’s my call.
A left handed Stevie Francis? Wow!!! That a heavy description. But one thing is for sure Coach Turgeon has seen and likes this sleeper. As he is most likely a point guard–it could signify that Maryland has steered away from Sterling Gibbs. Oh yea–Seth is good friends with Justin Anderson. Sounds like a trasfer to Montrose Christian is a possibility.
Bino pictured here (a Sunpapers shot) seems to be in. Hopefully this will lead to a quick turnaround on the Faust decision. Andy Katz reported last night that Turgeon will bring his assitant with him from A&M. His is part of his bio:
Veteran college basketball coach Bill Walker is in his third year as an assistant coach at Texas … Read More »
From Matt Bracken’s Tracking The Terps
With players to meet, a coaching staff to assemble and a recruiting class to save, Maryland men’s basketball coach Mark Turgeonhas plenty to do during his first week on the job. On Friday morning, College Park’s busiest man took some time out of his hectic schedule and made an impromptu drive up I-95 for a meet and greet withBernard C. “Jack” Young, Baltimore’s city council president. “[Maryland assistant] coach Bino [Ranson], he … Read More »
This seems to be happening and it will only help Coach Turgeon in his quest to get many of the locals we have missed out over the years. Combine Bino’s relationship with Coach Harrison from the Houston Defenders and add the fact that 2012 Big man recruit Shaquille Cleare was also considering A&M and well you figure out the rest.
It’s good to be back in the win column but I assure you it took a heackuva effort to complte the task. Afterward Gary was extremely pleased with the play of his Seniors, as Adrian, Cliff and Dino played excellent games. Some thoughts on a tough ACC battle:
Gary post game:”I thought our offense was as efficient as it’s been in a while. Clemson is a team that has been winning, and you can tell by the way they play. … Read More »
Yes I did believe this would be a brutally tough game. We wondered who would take charge down the wire–it was a Freshman Pe’Shon Howard who came … Read More »
Memo-13 (audio of Faust Committing on ESPNU)
“Ultimately I’ll destroy them” This was the response from Nick about how how misleading his baby face appearance is. After what seemed like a loooonnngggg honeymoon period, one of the top 2 guards in the country finally said YES –I will stay in state and attend the University of Maryland. Arguably this is one of the top recruits to commit … Read More »
