I proclaimed the Oklahoma product the next dominating big in the NBA after I saw him in the NCAA tourney in KC. After watching him in the 1st quarter play for the Clippers I am more convinced then ever. His instincts and abilities are as good as I have seen for a rookie.

Iverson would hurt the Clippers not help. Here’s a team with a solid inside player in Marcus Camby who will get some much needed help from Blake Griffin. You have two outstanding young players in Al Thornton and Eric Gordon and a solid point guard in Baron Davis. Iverson is too selfish and if you noticed Denver took off after Iverson was traded away. The Pistons couldn’t wait to get him off the roster. Iverson would take time away from … Read More »

Well at long last Donald Sterling might have the necessary ingredients to make a run at the NBA title. I saw him at Kansas City and I was never more impressed with a player in the past decade then Blake Griffin. Monday night he was incredible in the NBA Summer league. With NBA commissioner David Stern sitting courtside at the Thomas & Mack Center, the 6-foot-10 Griffin went 6 of 6 from the field in the first half and didn’t miss … Read More »

The worse the Wizards could have done tonight was getting the 5th pick in the NBA Draft and sure enough that’s what happened. This team cannot get a break!!! We will speculate later as to who the Wizards could wind up with.

Meanwhile the LA Clippers were the big winners Tuesday night. Blake Griffin now joins Marcus Camby, Al Thornton, Eric Gordon, and Baron Davis to form what will be a new power in the West. Yes, Blake is that … Read More »

The Wizards have a 17% chance of striking paydirt and landing Blake Griffin, maybe the best all around big man to come out of college in a decade!!! This kid can do it all, his game is fluid, he can play with his back to the hoop, run the fast break, handle the ball, post up and shoot, play great defense. I saw him in Kansas City and had a chance to talk with him and was absolutely blown away. … Read More »

It’s hard to believe the effect Ron Artest has had on Kobe. #24 seems to be out of sorts being frustrated by the constant defense being inflicted on him by Battier and Artest. The Lakers will win game 7 but appear to be vulnerable to Denver and thouroughly outmatched by LeBron and the Cavaliers. Let’s see what Jackson can do to coach these guys back to dominance.

I had an interesting conversation with a member of the Wizards front office … Read More »

Because I was on the air at ESPN tonight , I missed the Maryland Basketball awards banquet. Testudo times reports of the sharing of the MVP award between Dave Neal and Greivis and they believe Greivis should have been the sole winner. There is no dispute that as Greivis went so did the Terps. Dave Neal provided an integral role in many of the victories but it was Greivis who was the straw that stirred the drink. In the … Read More »

Bravo, finally Ernie has made a move I applaud. The Wizards are about to name fomer Piston Coach Flip Saunders head coach of the team. But just as important Flip is going to bring along one of his guys Sam Cassell as Assistant coach. Brilliant!!!! This team doesn’t need to take a chance on a newcomer-next year the talent is there provided Agent Zero and Brendan are healthy. This info has been spreading around the Wizards camp and today was verified … Read More »

Somebody email me and tell me I am crazy. Why win this game tonight?  Sacramento insured itself of the highest probability of getting the rights to the clearest draft franchise player in years, Blake Griffin. The Wizards moved to 19-61 with a victory while the Clippers are 19-60. Adding Blake Griffin to the Wizards turns them into instant contenders.
