There was a bright smile across the face of QB1 Chris Turner as Bruce Campbell returned to the practice fild today. Since he left the Clemson game 2 weeks ago, the Terps have been out of sync. Paul Pinegar returns to the right tackle position he is much more comfortable with. Now that Bruce is back , look for Caleb Porzel to have the kind of game I have been promising.
Riley Skinner was throwing to receivers wide open while Chris Turner had to thread the needle constantly.
Gary Douglas was impressive Saturday. By the way the screen passes did work for the Terps.
Watching on ESPN 360 is a very small step past listening on the radio. the constant pauses and unclearness of the full sreen are very annoying.
UVA has been established as a 5 point favorite for Saturday’s game. It’s funny that last year Maryland went into … Read More »
The score was not indicative of the onesidedness of the game. That being said Chris Turner had a decent game tossing 3 TDs of his own. Some observations:
Caleb Porzel burned his redshirt as expected but was ineffective in 3 rushing attempts. Have no fear this kid will be great.
The return of Bruce Campbell to the lineup is crucial to this team. There is just no running game or pass protection without him.
Ralph had this to say … Read More »
Tough news for the Terps this week as Bruce Campbell is definitely going to miss the Wake game. Last week the offense virtually collapsed after Bruce left the game. Look for quick drops by Turner and screen passes.
There is nothing to add —-Cut the turnovers and the penalties and I like our chances against Clemson today.
What do the Terps have to do to have a chance to win:
Contain CJ Spiller and Jacoby Ford–2 of the fastest athletes in College Football
Chris Turner must turn his game around after his worst performance as a Terp and stay away from DeAndre McDaniel
Cut the turnovers to 0 even if we have to play a more conservative game.
Stop the ridiculous penalties
Probably a special teams touchdown from Torrey or Tony Logan

From our first offensive series against Cal this team has shown a propensity for mistakes. Here is my question—why so many mistakes. Are the players so overmatched there is an overanxiousness as the play begins? If we have 0 turnovers and just a few penalties against Clemson will we win? Did Chris Turner have such a bad game because he is hearing footsteps from anticipated pressure? Why are our running backs so ineffective after years of standing out? Why does … Read More »
The No. 1-ranked Maryland field hockey team pulled away from No. 3 Wake Forest, 4-1, Saturday in a classic conference rivalry match. Four Terps scored in the win, while senior goalkeeper Alicia Grater notched four saves to keep the Terps perfect at 10-0 (2-0) on the year. This game was a rematch of last year’s national championship game and ACC championship game, in which the Terps claimed both crowns. … Read More »
Rutgers 31 Maryland 13 says it all. Some observations ona dismal afternoon:
4th and 3 from midfield and we go for it? Rutgers presented the most pathetic offense I have seen for a Terp opponent. Pin them back and maybe a good punt return or turnover or anything positive could happen.
The 2 way after the whistle unsportsmanlike conduct calls were killers. Why? Where is any discipline?
What would the score had been if Savage (QB1 for Rutgers) played?
Torrie … Read More »
