One of my complaints about Manager Trembley is that he never seems to let out his anger or emotion. The interview after the 10-9 come from behind win over Boston was about as dull as one could be for the greatest comeback in O’s history. Last night Trembley just about went off the deep end objecting a botched call in the first. After getting tossed, Luke Scott said to him on the way in—Don’t worry skip we’ll get this one … Read More »
I will tell you what is inexcusable. Saturday night in the bottom of the 7th with the score tied at 4 (after blowing a 4-0 lead), Nick Markakis and Brian Roberts could not decide who should catch an easy pop up. A simple “I’ve got it” by one of them would have done the job. It is incredible that this could happen on a major league level and has to have Trembley pulling the hair out of this head. The … Read More »
I was at the O’s game last night. After 3 1/2 innings with the Birds losing 9-1, being surrounded by Red Sox nation, with a thunderstorm lurking, I decide I had enough and left. Fast forward to 11PM or so. I could not bear to watch the game after getting home until Danny Matta texted me the O’s had just made the greatest comeback in their history. I turned on MASN right away and almost feinted–Yes it was 11-10 O’s … Read More »
Red Sox Nation invaded Camden Yards last night and Oriole fans present were forced to suffer through a shutout loss to Lester who moves to 8-0 vs Baltimore. JD Drew was a double short of the cycle for Boston and the only Oriole highlight in a dismal effort was a home run stealing catch by Adam Jones.
They should have made the whole team come back to Baltimore in old school bus. When is Trembley going to wake up and take Mora out of the 5 hole. When is Trembley going to put Jones back in the 2 hole where he had such great success and leave him there. When is Trembley going to wake up and understand that Koji pitching 10 innings a month isn’t helping the team by being a starter. And Trembley should be … Read More »
Take me home quickly–Dave Trembley uttered to the chartered pilot. What a disgraceful 3 game performance by the O’s. Tuesday night –idiotic base running by Wigginton cost us a win. Wednesday-an embarrasing effort by Pie insured defeat. Last night–maybe the pitching staff should pitch Mr Ramirez a shade more carefully. Chris Ray was not impressive. Ouch–here come the Nationals!!!
—First things first. The crowd at Land Shark Stadium was announced at 10,200. On TV it looked like there were a max of 2000 present and in the late innings about 600. I’m not sure iI would be building a new stadium for this team.
—Who is to blame last night Ty Wigginton for an absolutely idiotic base-running mistake in the 11th inning or Dave Trembley, the manager of a team that has run itself out of 5 or 6 … Read More »
There are those who might say the Orioles current 5 game winning streak ( 2 vs. Mets-3 vs. Phils) is tainted because the Mets have more injuries than Heinz has varieties and the Phils are in a tailspin losing 8 of 9 on their just concluded home stand. One thing you need to do is beat bad teams or teams going bad and that’s exactly what the Orioles did this past week. It may not be as impressive as if … Read More »
Can we all see some light at the end of the tunnel. There is nothing like a 5 game winning streak to awaken sleeping fans. I like the tweaking of the lineup and substitutions Trembley is making. Everyone seems to be participating in the resurgence of this team. Now if we could play the NL East every day. Brian Roberts seems to be popping out of his lathargic hitting and fielding streak. Jeremy Guthrie pitched like the #1 starter he … Read More »
I come to bury Trembley, not praise him. Hey, I’m happy the O’s won. And how many posts have a little Shakespeare in them? That’s Shakespeare the writer, not Shakespeare the guy who played wide-out for Miami Hurricanes. Yes the O’s showed some of the old Orioles magic but Trembley’s overmanaging and lack of flexibility hurt the team last night. Trembley tells his bench players a couple days in advance when they are going to play. He does this … Read More »
