Remember anyone can be a closer. I will not bring up his name again. In watching Oriole Centerfielders for 50 years, I don’t ever remember seeing one misplay a fly ball as poorly as Adam Jones did in the 6th inning, spoiling Brian Matusz shutout. This team  is just awful.

David Hernandez again pitched well for the O’s. Combine this with some strong hitting from Nick Markakis and the Birds coasted to an easy win.  Markakis was moved to the cleanup spot and responded witha 2-4 performance including a home run. The Orioles come home and hopefully they will respond in order to save their skipper.

I would guess Hill is going to be waived and Berken probably should go back to Norfolk. Tillman takes one spot and Liz the other.  Liz has pitched well at Bowie and he does have some experience in the big leagues.  I’d rather have the O’s send Liz out for 2-3 starts and see how he does and let Arietta  and Patton continue starting at Norfolk.  Matusz could be the dark horse here.  He was impressive in spring training, has … Read More »

Last night Cesar Izturis forgot to check with his 3rd base coach when rounding 2nd base. “With Cesar Izturis on first base and one out, Brian Roberts hit a shot off the right-field wall. Let’s tell it like it is, for the first time in recent memory the O’s are hot. Tonight we will probably witness the largest walk-up crowd in years. Why, because the legend finally arrives tonight. Matt Wieters will be in the starting lineup for the Os. Add this to what now seems the outfield for a decade and Oriole fever is back. this season is just starting!!!
