In a tightly contested battle , Maryland was up on the Hoyas 7-6. I turned to the gentleman from Lacrosse magazine and said the next goal would dictate the game. The Terps had the ball-threw it away and the Hoyas started a 6 goal run, the first team to separate in a close game usually wins.        Coach Dave Cottle had the guts to start his 3 freshman recruits on attack today and the gamble paid off as Maryland led by Grant Catalino’s 4 goals defeated G-town on the road.  Jake Reed (2 goals) , Ryan Young (2 goals) and Tony Mendes completed the freshman scoring.  Cottle ‘s defensive moves throttled the Hoyas and Carter and Phipps combined for 10 saves ina game that Maryland dominated from start to finish.  Next up for the … Read More »
