Let’s get it on. Five members of the 2002 National Championship, including 2 current NBA stars will suit it up for the Alumni Game at 10:30. Usually the game consists of Mitch Kasoff dominating play but this year might be different. (I do hope Mitch plays this year). What a great night it will be at College Park as the former Champions help kick off Mark Turgeon’s Maryland career.

Let me say how sad this news is. But let me also say that very few people have done as much for Maryland Sports as Juan Dixon. For many years Juan provided thousands of Terrapin fans with untold enjoyment. I unquestionably stand in his corner and will not pass any judgement until I hear the whole story. Juan is a … Read More »

Here are my top 10 plays of the decade ranked in order with #1 being the biggest and most significant.

9—    January 1, 2003—On 4th and goal, Scott McBrien ran a naked bootleg and went untouched into the endzone triggering a 30-3 win over Tennessee. … Read More »

Center  Len Elmore, great rebounder, shot blocker, could score.  Played before the shot clock so he would have had many more rebounds if he had played in that era.  2nd team. Charles “Buck” Williams.  Really an insult to put Buck, who was a power forward playing center, on the 2nd team.  Who was tougher than Buck?  No one.  Who played with more passion than Buck?  No one.  He ate up Ralph Sampson, a 3 time All-American, every time the two played against each other. Buck!  And please don’t say Joe Smith should be … Read More »
