Senior Katie O’Donnell broke the ACC’s career points record in the first half with an assist. Freshman Jill Witmer scored twice for the Terps.

The Maryland field hockey team opened its season Friday night with a 4-2 win over No. 11 Drexel in Philadephia. Senior Katie O’Donnell and the rest of the US National team finished their trip to Europe with a 4-1 record, going 2-1 against Spain and taking two wins from England.  O’Donnell scored in the first match of the series, a friendly against Spain in Valencia, that gave the USA a 2-0 lead.
