The Atlantic Coast Conference has selected Owen Blye (Men’s Lacrosse), A.J. Francis (Football) and Katie Schwarzmann (Women’s Lacrosse) for the Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship Award for 2013.

ACC Commissioner, John D. Swofford, announced on Wednesday the 36 student-athletes who have been honored with this award.

Men’s Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year Brett Schmidt of Maryland leads the 2011 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic team as announced today by Commissioner John Swofford. In addition to Schmidt, four other Terps, sophomore Owen Blye and seniors Dan Burns, Grant Catalino and Brian Farrell were named to the All-ACC Academic team.

Wow!! What an incredible game. For the first 48 minutes the Terrapins were totally dominated by Carolina and trailed 6-2. In a driving rain it seemed all was lost. Goals from Drew Snider and John Haus cut the lead to 6-4 with 8 minutes left. With all that was going on today at College Park, there was definitely a feeling of an Olympic type venue. My day started at Comcast watching the Lady Terps in round oneof the NCAAs. However today was no contest as the Terps opponent was totally mismatched. Maryland jumped out to a 23-2 over St Francis lead and never looked back. Alyssa Thomas is an impressive player and led the Terps with 16.

     Maryland grad and local promoter, Lee Corrigan will appear on Terp Talk this Thursday night at 7PM.  Lee will discuss the upcoming Under Armour All Star lacrosse games at Towson Saturday night featuring 10 incoming Maryland Freshmen.
