Some comments on a great Terrapin victory in Puerto Rico
Terrell Stoglin was simply incredible last night scoring 32 on 12-21 shooting and playing his heart out all over the court.
Sean Mosley had the kind of game that we will need in order us to win. He was 4-5 from the 3 point line and wound up with 16 points.
It is hard to believe that Nick Faust is a Freshman. Handling the point almost the entire game Nick … Read More »
Some observations of a disappointing effort from the Terps:
Remember it’s just the first game and I seriously doubt if we will shoot as poorly the rest of the season
When Sean is 1-8 from the field and Stogs is 0-9—you are just not going to win.
At 10-1 Alabama you kind of knew the game was in jeopardy .
It is very rare that any team doesn’t have a bit of a hot shooting streak in a game. This … Read More »
Maryland Coach Mark Turgeon
On the transition over the last five months:
“The most difficult thing was getting my family here. Traffic can be a pain in this area. Everything has been great. The people have really accepted me. I’m on a honeymoon with the media since I haven’t lost a game yet. The players have been working hard for me. If there have been any surprises they have been pleasant. I knew everything wasn’t going to be perfect … Read More »
There is no doubt Sean is the most versatile, well rounded player on this year’s bball team. Turgeon has gone back to Sean’s roots to discover how he controlled the game in high school. It will be most interesting to see how this year’s team will play out. “I’m going to put the ball in his hands,” Turgeon said of Mosley. “I talked to his high school coach and people around him when he was younger. He’s good with the … Read More »
Do not fret yet!! Sean has all summer to rehab.
Leonard Hamilton had his guys ready to attack right from the start tonight as Dulkys from Lithuania opened with 9 quick points. Gary started Sean and Cliff tonight in place of Adrian and PeShon but those 2 came off the bench to inject some pop in the lineup. Jordan has barely touched the ball so far.
PeShon has ignited the team with a few great assists to Hawk and Bowie. Maryland has scored 6 straight to take a 19-18 lead before … Read More »
Despite what the Dookies say this has turned into the game the nation watches in the ACC. Carolina is not the Carolina of even a few years back and when you look for what it takes to battle with Duke, Gary Williams might not have the same talent but he always has the answers. That’s why tomorrow night at 9, Steve Lavin, Tom Izzo, Bobby Knight, Dookie V, every great coach in the land will be tuned in to ESPN. At … Read More »
Tonight needs to be that game that begins to turn the season around for Maryland. it will not be an easy task as the opponent always gives Maryland fits. Senior Malcolm Dulaney, fron Baltimore leads the Hokies in most categories and is certainly the heart of the team. Forward Jeff Allen has been a thorn in the side of the Terps for years. Hopefully Jordan Williams and the rest of his mates overcome the free throw problem that has plagued … Read More »
Look, it’s tough to look great against such a bad team as Wake Forest. But the bottom line is that Maryland desparately needed a win and they won relatively easy. Let’s look at the highs and lows of the win.
Game in , game out Dino Gregory is providing tremendous energy. Whereas originally his presence in the starting lineup might have been questioned, it’s obvious on this team that is exactly where he belongs. as Wake bit into the l;ead … Read More »
The schedule maker has not been kind to the Terps. The Terps stand at 0-2 in the conference at the moment and without looking ahead it seems like a 10-4 finish will be needed for the Terps to dance. This puts a tremendous premium on tonight’s game against the struggling Demon Deacons. At any time road games in the ACC are brutal. Despite Wake’s 7-9 start, the joint will be jumping and anything can happen. The Terps are a double … Read More »
