It was great to cover a game for Maryland last night after the week of Coaching conjecture. The Men’s bball team responded with a crushing defeat of the Highlanders from New Jersey. Maryland was coming off a 10 day break after it’s opening ACC loss to BC.  Gary place Pe”shon in the starting lineup giving Cliff Tucker a seat on the bench for but a few minutes. Gary said … Read More »

Williams Post UNCG I give the Maestro credit—he remains loyal to those who have always been good to him. After a really weak game against Temple, gary contemplated a change or 2 but decided to stay with the status quo as far as the starting lineup goes. Adrian Bowie responded with an excellent game scoring 15 on 4-5 shooting.Cliff Tucker scored 13 on 5-10 shhoting. Once again Jordan Williams got a 2bl–2bl with 23 and 13.

Confidence must be building in the minds of Gary;s troops. after a miserable opening 5 minutes, the Terps settled down and destroyed the Nittany Lions.  Here is what I loved about the win:

After watching a few of the ACC teams , there is no way the Terps aren’t in the top 4 teams in the conference. PeShon and Stoglin are getting better with each win. Stoglin’s offense  is becoming really sharp. The win by 23 and having Cliff with … Read More »

Okay it’s just an exhibition game but there were a lot of things even an impartial fan had to be impressed with.

Seniors–Gary swears by them–acts by it– and in so many cases (Dave Neal, Calvin MacCall, Boom Osby, Matt Kovarik, to name a few) he is rewarded. Cliff Tucker played like a Senior should in the 1st half. He took control and wenyt to the bucket.  Coach … Read More »

You have to have great feelings for the Terrapins 2010-11 season after tonight’s quick look at the Terrapins.

Adrian Bowie will start at point for the Terrapins this season but he will be pushed hard by Pe’Shon Howard and Terrell Stoglin. Pe’Shon was special playing side by side with Sean Mosley. Sean is relishing his new leadership role on this team. He seemed comfortable and offensively fluid. Pe’Shon who is wearing #21 (Greivis) just made play after play.

So now it is official. Pe”Shon Howard, Haukur Palsson, Ashton Pankey, Mychal Parker, and Terrell Stoglin comprise ESPN”s 21st Ranked recruiting class for 2010. My take is that Pe”Shon is vastly underrated and would make this class ranked higher. There are a ton of points that must be replaced and Stoglin, Howard , and Co will be called … Read More »

Here are notes on Terrell Stoglin, the incoming Maryland guard who played in last night’s Capital Classic: There’s a lot to like about Stoglin, who appears unselfish, sees the court well, has a sweet-looking lefty jump shot and — like fellow recruit Pe’Shon Howard — doesn’t lack for confidence. Stoglin finished with 11 points on 4-for-8 shooting — including three 3-pointers.

Here is some info on Haukur Palsson, the incoming Maryland swingman from Montverde (Fla.) Academy who played in last night’s Capital Classic: Palsson had three points and four rebounds in the game and said he hopes to help Maryland on the boards next season. Of the three future Terps in the game, Palsson was the toughest to evaluate. High school all-star games are all about creating shots and passes.

We all have continually watched Pe’Shon Howard at Oak Hill but last night was the debut of Terrell Stoglin in the area. Both players presented themselves well. Pe’Shon sporting a #21 jersey, scored 14 shooting 6-10 from the field and dishing 3 assists. Stoglin. a lefty, shor 4-8 from the field including 3 threes.  With all the … Read More »
