The first time I saw 6-6 Notre Dame transfer Will Yeatman up close. I thought here was a football player.  The Washington Times reported that after this years lacrosse season Will will join the football team.

Maryland placed four players on the 2009 USILA Men’s Lacrosse All-America teams, which were announced Thursday. Sophomores Ryan Young and Max Schmidt earned second and third team honors, respectively, while sophomore Grant Catalino and senior Dan Groot were honorable mention selections.

Young earns his first All-America honor and was the catalyst of the Maryland offense throughout the 2009 season. The attackman, who is a native of Massapequa, N.Y., finished the season second on the team in points with 40 on 19 goals and 21 … Read More »

With interview requests pouring in, #23, Will Yeatman has rightfully opted to remain silent about Sunday’s NCAA Tournament game with the Irish. Remember Will transferred from Notre Dame to College Park this year. This much I promise, look for this attack man to play 110 % Sunday, despite recent ailments.

The University of Maryland were one of the 9 universities in the country to receive an at large bid to the NCAAs last night. I was pretty sure the Terps would get the bid when Notre Dame easily defeated Ohio State. “When you have one of the best schedules in the country — and we had two wins against the top six teams — and you start looking around at those you’re comparing yourself to, we had a very good chance … Read More »

In the irony of ironies, Duke’s defeat of UVA inthe Acc Torney could lead the Terps into the dance, whereas now they sit on the bubble. Maryland’s early season win over the Blue Devils will probably pay dividends and jolt the Terps into the field of NCAA tourney field of 16. First is a mandatory win over Yale on the road.

Will Yeatman is back tonight for the final 2009 push fot the Men’s lacrosse team. Jason Carter will be in the nets. Even though Inside lacrosse already has the Terps in the 16 team NCAA field, Coach Cottle believes a win is necessary to guarantee the bid. The game is 5PM at Kenan Field in North Carolinand can be seen on ACC Select.  Maryland won a hard fought battle 8-7 in College Park earlier in the season. The Terrapins are … Read More »

The Terrapins are at a crossroads today. After 2 brutal losses to Hopkins and UVA, the Terps need 3 more wins to safely place themselves in the NCAA tournament. A few weeks ago this might have looked like a soft game, but not anymore. Two weeks ago #1Princeton needed Overtime to defeat the Quakers and last week Penn defeated #11 Brown. The Terps will probably be without Will Yeatman, recovering from an ankle injury. Most likely Jason Carter will be in … Read More »

It seemed like the offense looked more cohesive early on without Yeatman. I wonder what Dave Cottle thought and how will he bring Will back into the lineup Tuesday.

Looking ahead, the Terrapins have 3 games left that barring something strange whould be in the win column–Binghamton, Penn, and Yale. That would give them 9 wins. Coming up will be the ACC Tournament. Even a first round loss will leave the Terps at 9-6 which should be enought to get … Read More »

Maryland vs Hopkins is big no matter what year it has been played. But this year is a little different. In the past 2 years Hopkins came into the Maryland game desperately needing a win. In 2007, the Bluejays won 5-4 in overtime which triggered a run to their 2nd NCAA championship team in 3 years. Last year, Hopkins win started their run to the championship game. Hopefully the slumping Terrapins can use this game as a springboard to a … Read More »
