I will explain the Lance reference in a minute. Here are Dookie (errrr Dickie) V’s picks:

#5 Michigan State     #4  Purdue    #3  Syracuse   #2 Duke (who Else)     #1 Kansas

His reasoning on Kansas starts with the return of one of top point guards in the Nation, Sherron Collins. Lance, with or without Xavier Hanry , you will never see the ball on the Jayhawks.

As predicted this morning on terptalk.com, the NCAA Championship was never a game. The Tarheels jumped out to a big double digit lead and never wavered. Ty Lawson was incredible as always. Tyler Hansborough played his usual game and Carolina was just too deep for anyone in this tournament.  My prediction was a no contest 18 point win , The game was a No Contest 17 point win for the tar heels. Maybe now we can stop hearing about the … Read More »

From the second I saw the physical presence of Maryland’s 2009 recruits, Jordan Williams and James Padgett, I was excited about the Terrapins future. Watching them play only accentuated the feeling that perhaps the Terps might become the bullies of the ACC over the next few years. James is Gary’s dream player, playing at 100% even when the game became a dunking contest. James was able to gain positon to convert 11 of 13 shots and clearly claim the MVP … Read More »

Another day, more rumors about Born Ready. According to LJ World, Xavier Henry wants to go to Kansas which would be the set up for Lance Stephenson to become a Terrapin. Keith Cavanaugh reported today in Terrapintimes.com that “one of Lance’s close guys tells me he thinks/his gut is he may still go to Maryland!” Xavier’s dad also said that he the Henry camp might wait to see who is named Memphis’ new coach before any action is … Read More »

Adam Zagoria had been insisting Lance was going to Kansas, but not anymore.  Check out zagsblog.com. If you listened to Terp Talk tonight this reiterates what I said, the second Xavier Henry commits to Kansas, that’s it for Lance. Born Ready needs the ball in his hands and with All American Sherron Collins and X , he will never see the ball. Yet on the Terps if Greivis is gone , Born Ready will certainly have the opportunity to be … Read More »

Wednesday night Coach Williams offered and Thursday Terrell Stoglin a 6′ left hand shooting point guard committed to the Terrapins. Terrell averaged 27 points and 7 assists in his Junior Year. This was a must fill position for the Terps and certainly the timing came as a surprise with all of the Lance hoopla going on. Check out some video on Terrell (#20 on the green team) from MaxPrepsTV. We will have a lot more to say about Terrell … Read More »

The following is one of my favorite Terp Talk interviews with the Terrapin Hall of Famer Lefty Driesell. the interview took place in March of 2007 after Maryland was eliminated in the NCAAs by Butler.

Catch Matt Bracken’s blog for everything that happened today concerning Born Ready. Matt will be on Terp talk next Tuesday to update Maryland’s recruiting for men’s basketball. Here are some of my theories as to why the scale is beginning to tip in Maryland’s favor in its quest for Lance: (Remember this is speculation not fact)

With Calipari’s defection to Kentucky, Xavier Henry is free to decommit and from Memphis and possibly go to his original 2nd choice … Read More »

Saturday night in New York, a future Hall of Fame Coach , Gary Williams , showed up to watch Lance Stephenson and one of Maryland’s prized recruits, James Padgett. Two day later, according to the Baltimore Sun, Born Ready postpones his supposed announcement that he will be attending Kansas. Maybe Lance has been reading my blogs in Terp talk. If Sherron Collins comes back he will never see the ball. I have seen Lance play and it is … Read More »
