Utterly amazing. the Terps are 11-5 and all 5 losses could have easily have gone the other way. Fouls shots, clutch shooting, short lapses in defense have all contributed to the 5 losses. somehow or another the 3 non conference losses were all on neutral courts. Now the Terps travel to Philly to face Villanova or “Montrose North” as we know it. The Terps have proven they can play with anyone. Their intensity and overall preparation are unmatched. THEY NEED … Read More »
Look, it’s tough to look great against such a bad team as Wake Forest. But the bottom line is that Maryland desparately needed a win and they won relatively easy. Let’s look at the highs and lows of the win.
Game in , game out Dino Gregory is providing tremendous energy. Whereas originally his presence in the starting lineup might have been questioned, it’s obvious on this team that is exactly where he belongs. as Wake bit into the l;ead … Read More »
The schedule maker has not been kind to the Terps. The Terps stand at 0-2 in the conference at the moment and without looking ahead it seems like a 10-4 finish will be needed for the Terps to dance. This puts a tremendous premium on tonight’s game against the struggling Demon Deacons. At any time road games in the ACC are brutal. Despite Wake’s 7-9 start, the joint will be jumping and anything can happen. The Terps are a double … Read More »
The Terps exploded after the start of the 2nd half to a 38-32 lead but after Coach K tongue lashing to the Blue Devils , Duke stormed back and dominated the rest of the game. Little used sub, Tyler Thornton came off the bench for Duke with 3 steals, took 2 charges and provided much needed energy to the #1 team in the land. Jordan was his usual excellent self tonight nailing his 9th double double in a row–with 23 … Read More »
This is a tough one Sunday night. The Terps will have at point guard most of the night– one of 2 freshman, PeShon or Terrell. This is a tall task for any player let alone a freshman. Here are some things that must happen for the Terps to be competitive:
Jordan must stay out of foul trouble. Coach K will be throwing all his bigs at him. Dino must hit his little jumper to keep some of the pressure off … Read More »

The Plumlee brothers, Kyls Singler and virtually every Duke player know the way to beat the Terps is to shut down Jordan Williams. Coach K will throw the kitchen sink at Jordan–fouling him whenever necessary and making him go to the line. Jordan must avoid the stupid fouls because he must be active in the game for the Terps to win.
The Terps would win tonight if any of their players started so we need to look for flow of the offense tonight. Bowie looks so much more comfortable at the 2. Early on 2-2. Stoglin hits a NBA 3 off a nice pass from Sean as the Terps go uo 7-2. With the score 9-2 and 16 minutes left in the half, I now declare the Terps winner tonight. Jordan has 4 rebounds and 2 points after 4 minutes.

“If you watch as the game goes on, you’ll see who’s playing really well by who’s on the court,” the coach said. “You may not have your starting team out there, you’ll have the five that are playing the best that particular night. You play towards that position. You want to be out there when it counts.” from Jeff Barker’s column in the Sun
One of the great positive by products of PeShon starting is that Bowie moves to the … Read More »
It was great to cover a game for Maryland last night after the week of Coaching conjecture. The Men’s bball team responded with a crushing defeat of the Highlanders from New Jersey. Maryland was coming off a 10 day break after it’s opening ACC loss to BC. Gary place Pe”shon in the starting lineup giving Cliff Tucker a seat on the bench for but a few minutes.
