It was a great recruiting day for the Terps. Four star 6’5 325 lb Offensive Guard, Pete White (above left) committed to the Terrapins. This is what the Turtle report had to say about Pete: “At the point of attack there aren’t many better than Pete White. His initial burst and punch are as explosive as there … Read More »

One day after the huge victory over Cal, the Maryland coaching staff nominated 5 players for ACC player of the week. But looming on the horizon are some injuries that hopefully won’t derail the Terps.

Senior defensive end Mack Frost may have injured his surgically repaired knee, an injury not apparent during the game or mentioned afterwards by Friedgen, and he may miss this week’s game.

Also, running back Da’Rel Scott is “questionable” for this week with … Read More »

“They outplayed us, plain and simple,” said Tedford.  Some observations to all my bearinsider.com fans.

What was Tedford thinking about coming to College Park less then 24 hours before the game?

Cal was not ready for stifling humidity!!!!

As I predicted Maryland got on top, gained confidence and kept the crowd in the game!!

Best was amazing but the Terps’ ability to tackle in the open field(long a weakness) kept him under control.

Turner was awesome 15-20 and … Read More »

It seems like no major changes are in the hopper for Saturday.  It is imperative for the Terps to get off to a quick start or else could run away and hide.  OC James Franklin commented on the QB performance:  “As a quarterback you got to make 90 percent of the throws that are there. If a guy is open you got to hit him. Really, it is not that difficult when you have good protection to drop back … Read More »

These are just some thoughts I have.

No deferral of the coin flip Saturday. We must get the lead against Cal or it could get ugly.

Kenny Tate should be given a chance to return kickoffs.

Darrius on punt returns–one more chance to get the ball in his hands.

The Terps have to take some chances blitzing the QB. Lack of a pass rush is killing us.

Script 10 play series for Josh  Portis. One play in and out … Read More »

With the MTS game 24 hours old, Coach Friedgen must quickly begin the recovery process. From terrapin times comes the following from the Coach:” We’ve talked about there may be a few changes,” he said. “We’ll have to see. I’m going to kind of marinate overnight on that and think about it and see if we can get some guys in the right spots, maybe. And get a little more production. I think there are a couple of spots on … Read More »

This loss hurts deeply.  Maryland’s failure to cope with the spread offenseled to total domination by the Blue Raiders.  Chris Turner was generally ineffective, throwing 3 interceptions .  DaRel Scott rushed for 123 yds on only 11 carries. Obi Egekeze again missed a crucial tieing FG. Darrius only was involved in 3 plays.Pass rush was non-existent.  This can go on and on.  Next Saturday vs Cal will be a gut check game for the Terps.  The season must … Read More »

The Terps play what I believe is a pivotal game tonight going into Mid Tennessee St as a heavy favorite.  Chris Turner gets the nod as QB and my only fear in this game is an injury to Chris.  Barring that disaster  Terps 31 MTS 3.  Men’s Soccer defeated Hartford 3-0 behing Will Swaim’s shutout. Katie O’Donnell scored 4 goals in leading the Lady Terps to a 8-1 win over Old Dominion in field hockey.
