Pe’Shon Howard a 6’2″ 185 lb guard out of the Oak Hill Academy became Maryland’s 4th Commitment yesterday. Long wanting to be a Terrapin, Pe’Shon quickly accepted the offer from Coach Gary Williams. From the limited video I have seen of Howard he appears to have a smooth long range shot. More info as the story develops.
When a song make the the front page of Terp Talk, you know it has to be awesome. I was not at the concert but have watched it several times. Jagger stole the show singing better then I ever remember him singing live. Of course, it didn’t hurt that he had Bono and The Edge as backup. WATCH THIS!!!! For a much better video check it out ON DEMAND on Fios and Comcast.
There is a lot at stake for our young Coach on Sunday. Many believe the lack of discipline of the team falls on his shoulders. Is he running the asylum or are the players. A win and he is in and completes his 2nd consecutive year in the playoffs. If that is not good enough for most Ravens fans then they better wake up . He would be 22-13 in his tenure and that is pretty damn good. But lose … Read More »
Something is really wrong here. Gilbert is a strange and quirky guy, who acts to the beat of his own drum. This recent gun-toting behavior seems way out of character for him. I can’t imagine the Wizards gave him a 6 year $111 million dollar contract thinking the incidents of the past few weeks were even possible. I am not sure how it can be handled but this young man needs help and needs it quickly. Forget his performance this … Read More »
The best of the game on Friday was clearly the Auburn Northwestern game. It is incredible to me that Coach Pat Fitzgerald faced with a 3rd and 4 at the 28 near the end end of of regulation, elected to run the ball in the middle. As a Result of the 2 yard gain, his Field Goal kicker, Stefan Demos–who was having an dreadful day– was faced with a 44 yard field goal. Naturally he pulled it, but it would … Read More »
Starting point guard for the Portland Trailblazers and former Terrapin Steve Blake, has been hospitalized with pneuminis. Hopefully he will recover quickly–our prayers are with him.
Though Stu Vetter has never steered a player anywhere and he sure has recruited some of the best players in the country to Montrose Christian (Kevin Durant, Greivis, Isiah Armwood, Linus Klsiza, M Yarou, and on and on), when he says Maryland is still in the lead for Ross I believe him. Yes he was upset that Ross backed off his verbal committment. Also, Ross can make no visits during the season as this is one of Vetter’s rules. Just … Read More »
Stu Vetter expanded on his opinion of the future of Decommit Terrence Ross in Matt Bracken’s sunpapers blog:
Montrose Christian basketball coach Stu Vetter confirmed today that senior shooting guard Terrence Rosswithdrew his commitment to Maryland “within the week.” “He has reopened his recruitment,” Vetter said. “He’s going to reopen it for a limited number of schools — no more than four or five. Maryland is still very strong in the picture. He just felt that he wanted to open … Read More »

The Terps had three wrestlers place, as Steven Bell finished runner-up at 133 pounds andHudson Taylor took fifth at 197 pounds. Maryland finished sixth despite wrestling with eight entrants rather than 10, as Mike Letts and Patrick Gilmore were unable to compete.

Some observations of a very strong visiting team performance: The strength of the Tribe was no shock to the Terps.
