At 7PM tonight, Terrence Ross, who recently committed verbally to attend Maryland, will join other 2010 hoop stars in an all star game at St Frances Academy on East Chase Street. Several other Maryland targets will be playing in the game including Mychal Parker and Hippolyte Tsafack.
One more scholarship has opened up with the not so unexpected departure of Steve Goins from the Maryland program. Terrapin times reports that Goins will most likely transfer to a smaller D1 school near his home of Chicago. Zagsblog reported last night that inside sources have made it clear that St John’s and Maryland are out of the Lance Stephenson sweepstakes. While admitting that Gary Williams personally took the lead in the recruitment, Lance just didn’t want to become a Terp. Final story. Let’s move on!!!
Terrapin Times reported yesterday that Drey Mingo has found a new home at Purdue. Marah Strickland has kept her options open but is leaning to South Carolina where she would hope to be the focus of the offense. I still do not understand why Marah left.

One of my favorite writers, bloggers has been Ray Frager, Sports Media Columnist for the Sun. Yes I am depressed with his departure but I am sure he will pop up in the internet very quickly. His farewell column, Medium Well today in the Sun reflects his 24 years with the paper. Ray, I will certainly miss your column.
As reported in Matt Bracken’s blog. defensive end Ian Evans becomes the 4th Terrapin football committment. The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder chose UM over offers from Syracuse and Temple. Rutgers, Penn State, Vanderbilt and many others were expressing interest, according to Hammonton head coach Pete Lancetta.

The 14th-ranked University of Maryland men’s lacrosse team (8-6) travels north to New Haven, Conn., for its regular-season finale at Yale on Saturday, May 2. The Terps and the Bulldogs are slated for a 1 p.m. face-off at Reese Stadium. Maryland is in a must win situation Saturday as it rest on the NCAA Tournament bubble. With a win, the Terps would be 9-6 and thus better its chances to be in the dance.
