North Carolina will save face for the ACC tonight. After watching the Tar Heels thoroughly thrash Villanova by taking advantage of its length defensively, I expect much more of the same tonight. It’s ironic that both National Championship Games are rematches of earlier season matches. UConn destroyed Louisville twice and will repeat the same onTuesday night in the Women’s final. I remember watching Carolina early in the 2nd half against Michigan State the first time. The Heels were up by … Read More »
I think the above scores says it all about our program and the man at the helm. Maryland thoroughly beat Mich State early in the year and then defeated Carolina, a double digit favorite by 3.
Recruiting is such a closed door process. It’s amazing how this story has captured the interest of all Maryland fans. Even the most casual of Terrapin basketball followers knows who Lance is. It seems like this posturing can’t go on forever but I guess it can. We will continue to closely follow all updates. Lance, Calipari is keeping you on a leash as insurance if he can’t get all the guys he wants. Don’t trust him. Whatever Gary promises will … Read More »

Opening day is Monday at 4PM vs the Yankees and for the first time in years it is an absolute sellout. Here’s hoping the starting pitching isn’t as bad as everyone says it is.
I still believe the Ravens will select Darriius Heyward Bey or NC State’s Hakeen Nicks with … Read More »

Another day, more rumors about Born Ready. According to LJ World, Xavier Henry wants to go to Kansas which would be the set up for Lance Stephenson to become a Terrapin. Keith Cavanaugh reported today in Terrapintimes.com that “one of Lance’s close guys tells me he thinks/his gut is he may still go to Maryland!” Xavier’s dad also said that he the Henry camp might wait to see who is named Memphis’ new coach before any action is … Read More »
I read today that teams that lose multi overtime games usually lose the next game they play. I was hoping that was a quirky statistical fact. It wasn’t. the Terps took a 2-1 lead into the 2nd quarter, held possession of the ball for 6 minutes or so and missed shot after shot. Navy scored twice in the closing minutes of the half to take a 3-2 lead and never looked back.Navy’s goalie Tommy Phelan had 17 saves always seeming … Read More »

OK, I vented last night on Terp talk. I promise the Virginia game discussion is over. If Dave Cottle can forget about it then so can I. It was great to hear how the team has bounced back from such a disappointing loss. Tonight at 77PM at Navy , we have 2 evenly matched teams, both in need of a big win. Navy edged the Terps last year 5-4 at College park. This game surely will be a tough one. … Read More »
