At 9;44 tonight, Terrapin Times reported that tomorrow Offensive Coordinator James Franklin will be named the next Maryland head coach when Ralph hangs up the spikes. Coach Friedgen’s contract is up in 3 years and Ralph intends on fulfilling his end. Franklin has been considered one of the strongest recruiters in the country. To have someone of his talent and ability locked up is a great plus for the football program. More details will follow tomorrow.
Adam Zagoria from Zagsblog.com has been a huge info source for Terp Talk on the recruiting trail of Lincoln High’s Lance Stephenson. Adam will be on Terp Talk next Thursday night to provide more insight on Stephenson.
The lack of a pass rush has long hindered Terrapin success over the past few years. Incoming Freshman, De’Onte Arnett and David Mackall both 4 star rated should quickly reverse this situation. Arnett is 6’4″ 250 lbs from Forestville Military Academy. Mackall is 6’3 230 from Edmonson High in Baltimore.

Kristi Tolliver continued her torrid shooting Thursday night, hitting five threes leading the Terps to a relatively easy victory over the Wolfpack. Maryland is now 18-4 and 6-2 in the ACC. Brenda commented on the improved play of her post players after the game:

The #4 shooting guard from Lincoln High, has dropped Memphis from his list of colleges and added the University of Maryland to one of the possible teams he will attend. Lance Stephenson’s recruitment has taken another interesting turn.
The 6-foot-5 Stephenson says Maryland is now on his list, and Memphis is out.
